The Story of Ericka Gilbert

Chapter 6

When Damon dropped us off at our house, the first thing Elena did was try to tell Aunt Jenna I was talking again. Aunt Jenna didn't want to hear it. Elena was in trouble for with me and Damon to Georgia without telling her. I waved at Aunt Jenna. 

"I know you're not fully ready yet honey, but I'll be ready to listen when you're ready to talk and be heard." Aunt Jenna said 

I hugged her and went to my room. I could hear the argument between Elena and Jenna from my room. 

"She started to talk again on the trip. She talked to the woman in Georgia, but she won't speak to us?! Doesn't this bother you?!" Elena demanded

"No, Elena, it doesn't. Being away from here may have helped her open up and heal a little bit. Besides the first person she'll talk to is probably Vicky or Jeremy or maybe even Damon.  Ericka and you do not get along. You guys haven't gotten along since your parents died, and while I may be her aunt we are nowhere near as close as she and Jeremy are." Jenna said 

Elena did this "humph" sound and stomped up the stairs. I decided to listen to some music and read a book until I dosed off. I woke up to notice that I got a text message from Damon about going to Sheila Bennett for help with the ritual to get in the cavern. I wished him luck and decided to go for a walk down the street. I made it to the end of the driveway before everything went black.

I woke up in a dark hotel room next to Elena. I looked over and saw a boy from our school in the corner, Ben. He noticed I was awake and jumped up. i jumped towards a curtain ready to yank it down. 

"Hey hey hey. Don't be like that Ericka. I'm not going to hurt you. I remember you in school. You are always nice to everyone, even Tyler who is a complete dick majority of the time, even after your parents died. You became shy, but was always there to lend a hand if someone needed it. Your sister was always the opposite. She was hot without a doubt but stuck up and high maintenance." Ben said to make me laugh

It worked. He was  always a people person. I could tell he was a newly turned vampire. I mimed writing and he found a notebook and pen. 

"What is going on, Ben?" I wrote 

"Your friend Damon has this book that my friend, Anna, desperately needs. You're close to him, so we're using you as leverage." Ben said 

"Why Elena?"

"She's for Stefan in case the Damon route fails."\

"What about talking to Damon and working together? I could probably help talk him around."

"We could prob-"

Elena jumped up and rushed for the door. Ben beat her there, locked the door, and tossed Elena back on her bed.

"So you finally decided to get up, Elena, instead of just eavesdropping?"  Ben mocked 

"Look I'm sure Stefan will be here any moment so just let us go." Elena said 

"Come on at least Ericka was willing to deal. Where's that manipulative little thing that broke Matt's heart? The one I see everyday walking around with her girl group?" Ben mocked again

Ben yanked her up and looked her dead in the eyes 

"You will not attempt to escape again." he said 

"I will not attempt to escape again." Elena repeated 

Ben let Elena go and she quickly kicked him in the groin area before bolting out the door. Elena was grabbed by a young teenage Asian girl and drug back inside and tossed on the floor.
