Dean had left at least an hour ago, probably more. Darkness had begun to descend and a chill ran throughout the air. Cas looked around, still leaning against the building. He didn't want to go home because he knew he'd have to own up to being so careless as to let someone see what he was doing. He knew his father wouldn't listen to any excuses he had.

As the wind shook the trees, Cas leaned down and pulled out a spare t-shirt and a pair of pants. He looked around before he tugged his shirt and pants off. The chilly air and the threat of someone seeing him with barely any clothes made him uncomfortable. He quickly changed into the spare clothing and shoved his knife into his bag. The contents of the bag shifted around as he slung it over his shoulder.

If he didn't get home soon, he would risk getting into even more trouble. Cas hurried back to his house, taking the back roads just in case there was blood on his face.

The ultimatum Dean had given him just a few hours earlier made it hard to focus on getting home. Not only did he not want to get home, he found himself forgetting his way. He paused to sit down near the side of the road.

There were a few things he knew for sure; he couldn't let Dean tell everyone about what Cas did but he also knew he couldn't spend more than a few minutes with him without going insane.

Knowing these things didn't help with his decision though. If fact, they made it impossible to decide. Deep down, Cas knew what he had to do, he just didn't want to admit it to himself.

The clock was just turning 7:00 when Cas pushed through the door and into the house. A look of relief washed over Gabe's face as his brother walked into the house. "Cas where have you been! Dad said it would be small hunt but here we are, multiple hours later! I've been sitting here, worrying my butt off."

Cas sighed and basically fell into the kitchen chair. The look on his face was full of worry and anger. Gabe leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Ok, you can't come in here super late, with a look like that on your face, and not tell me what happened. Now spill the beans, little bro."

Cas glared at him before letting out a small sigh. "Don't call me that. And I don't want to talk about it."

Gabe stuck out his bottom lip and drew his eyebrows together to form a sad, puppy-eyed expression. Cas rolled his eyes. His brother could be such a child sometimes. It wasnt annoying enough to make Cas upset, but it was one of Gabe's most prominent traits.

"It was Dean." Cas clenched his jaw. The name felt bad on his tongue and it tasted like the name of a coward.

A faint expression of anger crossed Gabe's face. "Was he messing with you again. I told you if he was messing with you to come to me-"

"Be quiet. He followed me after we left the school and I didn't notice him. I went into the nest, I took care of it, I did everything Dad said to do, and as I was walking out I heard him scream." Cas hunched over, putting his head in his hands. "He knows, Gabe. I had to tell him about monsters to stop him from going to the police."

Gabe sighed and put a hand on Cas' shoulder. He didn't have anything to say, but putting your hand on people's shoulders always worked in the movies. Cas shrugged it off and sat back up, avoiding Gabe's eyes. "And now he's threatening to tell the police I murdered all of the people in the nest because I'm a psychopath. Either that or I train him to be a hunter."

A squeaking noise rang throughout the room as Gabe slid his chair back in order to stand. "I'm gonna knock this guy's nuts off, I swear to God, little bro."

Cas looked up at Gabe, his eyes slightly teary from stress and exhaustion. "Dad's going to kill me."

Gabe didn't have time to comfort Cas before the front door swung open, hitting the same dent in the wall that it hit everytime Chuck decided to come home. There was a half-empty bottle in his hand and a foggy look on his face. "Castiel!"

It only took a second before Cas stood at attention in front of his father. Chuck eyed him up and down, squinting at the blood still on his neck. "Did you do the hunt?"

"Yes I did, but Dad-"

"You didn't screw up again, did you?"

"No, no. I mean," Cas shook his head, "maybe."

Chuck took a step closer to Cas. He reeked of expensive liquor and Cas had to hold his breath to keep from coughing in Chuck's face. "What do you mean maybe, Castiel."

"I-I mean... it was an accident and I-" Cas fumbled over his words, trying to find a way to phrase it that would get him in the least trouble. Chuck stared into his eyes, daring him to say the wrong thing. "Dean Winchester saw me."

Chuck sighed. "A disappoint, as always. The family screwup has screwed up again. What's he planning on doing?"

"He wants to go to the police."

Chuck glared at him, clutching the bottle in his hand tighter. It threatened to shatter if it was squeezed any tighter.

Cas stared at the floor, chewing his lip slightly. "He said he wouldn't go to the police though if I- if I taught him how to be a hunter."

Chuck nodded, taking a swig from the bottle he was holding. "Well then its decided, you're going to teach him how to be a hunter and do whatever else he wants until he promises not to go to the police. Understand?"

"But-"

Chuck smacked him with the back of his hand, leaning even closer to Cas. "I said do you understand."

"Yes-yes, sir."

Chuck nodded before going to the living room to pass out on the couch. Cas sulked upstairs, rubbing the mark Chuck had left. He was gonna have to teach Dean Winchester how to be a hunter. More importantly he had to teach him to be a good person. Cas could do little to stop the tears as he drifted of to sleep. He could here a light knocking coming from the other side of the door, but he didnt have the energy to answer it.
