Rescue

{Mermaid!Riku AU}

I sat down near the shore, I just got out of school, so I went to the beach to relax. I put my silvery hair into a ponytail, just to keep it out of my face. I sighed and looked out towards the sea, quietly admiring it. I never learnt how to swim, but, the ocean was beautiful. Suddenly, I see something jump into the water, and the figure looked human.

I waited for a couple minutes to see him come up, but, he didn't. I started to get worried. After about 4 minutes, I took a deep breath, full of anxiety for the boy. "Oh my god, that kid's drowning!" I say to myself and I ran over to the rock that the boy jumped off of. "This may be the stupidest thing I have ever done.." I muttered. I took in a deep breath, and dived into the water, immediately searching for the boy. "C-can't....breathe..." I heard his soft voice and I swam towards it. I saw the boy sinking down into the dark abyss, clutching his throat. Suddenly, I heard him gasp and I swam quicker to him.

The boy's eyes started to close, and I couldn't take seeing the boy in distress. I held a necklace in my palm, and transformed into my greatest secret. I am a mermaid. The boy gasps again, and grunts in pain and distress. "Don't worry, I'm coming!" I yelled to get his attention. His eyes opened wide when he saw me. His eyes locked with mine, a faint blush grows on the boy's face. He suddenly started gasping for breath, his face turning redder with the lack of oxygen.

I immediately swam as fast as I could and I put my lips on his, breathing air into his lungs. He froze in surprise, and then he breathed softly. He pulled away and looked into my eyes. He suddenly smiled warmly and muttered "I'm sorry." He took a huge breath, filling his lungs with water. I immediately panicked and grabbed his hand. I knew what was going on. "Please...I may not know you in any way, but, you have a lot to live for, don't throw it all away. Please, let me help you." I put one of my hands on his cheek, watching his eyes fill with tears. He suddenly started coughing, and swam close to me, almost putting his head on my chest. I knew what to do to save him.

I pulled him closer to my face, and I breathed air into his lungs, he started gasping for breath, and I gave it to him. He stopped gasping, I was relived until I didn't feel him moving at all. I pulled away as quickly as I could and swam him to the surface.

I turned human when I hit the surface, and I put the boy onto the sand, getting ready to do CPR. "Come on, kid, you gotta breathe...come on.." I took a deep breath and I breathe into his lungs, making sure he was getting oxygen. I pushed down onto his chest, cringing softly when I heard his ribs crack. (A/N: You have to push down prreeettyyy hard when you do CPR.) I continued the process from there, making sure that I'd be consistent. "Please, you're not going to die on me, not on my watch. Breathe, come on, breathe!" I breathed air softly into his lungs for the last time, when suddenly, I felt him flinch.

I got off of him as soon as he got up, and started coughing and gasping. "What were you thinking? You could've died out there." I lifted his chin up to look me in the eyes. He blinked softly and gasps. "R-Riku.." He gasps as he tries to speak. That was when I recognized him. He was my crush, Sora.

I blushed deeply and looked away. "I d-didn't want to l-live anym-anymore. My parents di-died a year a-ago and-" he paused to catch his breath."I co-couldn't take it anymore..I'm s-sorry." His face was now covered in tears, I softly wiped the tears off his face and kissed his cheek softly. "Sora...I'm sorry I didn't notice this before. You are in pain, and I was too oblivious to help..I love you with all of my heart, Sora. Please, don't do that again.." I hugged Sora close to me, feeling his soft breaths. "I love you too, Riku..and I always have. I am truly sorry for this, I just missed my parents.. Riku, I actually a have a itty-bitty question to ask. How were you able to stay under with me like that? Judging how long you were underwater, you would've drowned with me." Sora asked nicely, while playing with my hair. "Eh, erm, well, this is a secret that I never told anybody. I'm a mermaid. I saved your life using my mermaid abilities. I'm worried about you, Sora. Are you alright?" I asked with blush growing on my face. "Cool! Trust me, I won't tell anyone about this, but, I will tell them that we're dating." Sora leans in and kisses my lips passionately. "Good. I love you, Sora." I blushed as he kissed my neck. "I love you too, Riku.." Sora continues to kiss my neck, nibbling at times. After we stopped, we both went to bed together, and protected each other forever.
