Part 10: "A shocking announcement"

The traffic is clear with not so many cars sighted on the road. Fewer people are spotted outdoors these days as they probably prefer to stay indoors. As Sophie arrives at the train station, she buys a ticket and headed somewhere to the village side. The journey is about three hours ride. Along the way, it fascinated her of the view. The high standing mountains, the calm river, and the greenery fields that remind her of her past. She has missed the town so much. "The air is so fresh..." She mutters.

She headed to a small 'Hanok' near the bus stop. The house looks vacant without a human soul. Her eyes are scouring for something and it startled her to hear a shaky voice calling out for her. "Sophie!" An old woman looks excited to see her.

"Oh, grandma! I miss you!" She hugs her tightly. She is excited to tell her grandmother about her life in Seoul. They step inside the old house and the grandmother is smiling widely. "How things in Seoul? Are you happy?" Grandmother asks.

"Yes, sorry for not visiting your grandma... I know I should, even though you tell me not to..." She feels sorry to neglect her and follow her orders foolishly. Along with her stay, she hides away her problems and pretends to be fine.

The next day, the clock on the wall is fifteen minutes past 5.00 pm, Jumin is looking vacantly outside the windows. He looks worried as sometimes his eyes will set on the smartphone screen as he is waiting for a call. "Where could she be? Why didn't she come home last night? Where is she? Am I too harsh on her?" He sighed. He called in the chief of security.

"Does she really hasn't mention where she's going?" Jumin question.

"No sir, she took a taxi and left... I should have followed her... Sorry, Mr. Han" The chief is sorry to not follow her yesterday.

Jumin called Jaehee to ask as if Sophie stayed with her. It is hopeless as she was not there. She only left Jaehee a text message that she is fine. It worried Jumin about Sophie's disappearance and for the entire day, he does not eat. He is afraid that something bad might have happened to her. He could not sleep at all.

The next morning, Sophie goes back to the city. She reached the penthouse and headed straight into the house. In the living room, she sees Jumin is looking all frenzy. His gaze is frigid and filled with anger. It still upsets her and neglects him. She walks past him to go to her room. It stunned Jumin of her selfish act and quickly grab her hands. He pulls her hand harshly.

"Are you going to pretend I wasn't here?? What on earth are you thinking??!! Do you know how much you worried me! and you don't even say you are sorry? You just walk off from me? I have been looking for you for the past days, do you even care???! Please stop being selfish and childish!!!" Jumin yells.

He has never got angry or let out his anger. Sophie has never seen him acting like this. It startled her as she had never seen this side of Jumin. It is unsettling to see him bent out of shape like a hungry leopard. "I... Went to see someone..." She let out an inaudible voice.

"Seeing someone?? Who is this person who made you forgot your own fiancee?? Why won't you even bother to call me? Do you know how worried I am??!!" Jumin let out his anger. Yelling on top of his lung. He looks like an explosion of a water kettle. Sophie becomes silent for a while. It terrifies her to see Jumin's act. She is holding back her tears and words stuck on her throat.

"Do not just stand there! Answer me!!!" Jumin shakes her shoulder. He could not keep his anger like he used to. "You have Rika... You don't need me..." Sophie speaks.

It frustrated Jumin to hear that. He feels as it is useless for him to worry so much. He could not see her remorse and it really disappoints him. "What should I do to be good enough for you? Are seeing Vince? Do you like him more than I am?!!!" Jumin questions with anger. He sounds devastated and Sophie tore up.
