Epilogue:
After I concluded my last entry, I noticed that we had arrived in the hotel we were planning on staying at. It was, weirdly enough, only called 'The Plaza'. We all exited out of our black Mercedes and into the dusk-filled outdoor. The sky was now in various shades of reds, oranges, pinks, yellows, & purples. We entered the building after we closed our car's doors and walked into the lobby to go talk with the manager at the front desk.
"How may I help you, gentlemen?" He asked.
"A room for 6 please." Gavrilo said.
"Ok, that will be $815." He requested.
We all gathered up the leftover money from when we were acquiring the $500K for the hostage situation. Turns out we had received a lot more than we expected. Some of it had come from Gavrilo's Qmee account, which he had transferred to his bank account. It came from other places as well, like all of our bank accounts, mine especially, since I didn't realize just how loaded I really was. Once we handed the money over, he handed us a room key and we walked to our room and opened the door. We didn't really have much luggage with us, so it was easy to settle in.
"So, boys, know any bars near here?" Gavrilo asked.
We all pondered that for a moment. I mean the silence was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
"What about the NoMad bar? It's not too far from here. It's basically a 12 minute drive from here." I explained.
All of the boys just looked at each other and nodded. I thought that, because of their dreary state, they'd object but they didn't. So after that, we exited our room and left our stuff behind. We went into our car and sat down. Tom was the driver and Gavrilo sat in the seat beside him. The rest of the boys and I sat in the back. I gave Tom the directions to the bar. When we arrived, we got out and were led to our seats by the manager. The bartender took our orders as we looked at the menus.
"May I help you gentlemen?" The bartender asked.
I was the first to answer. "A 'Blinker' please."
"Uh-huh, and what about you, gentlemen?" He asked after he took my order and turned to my companions.
"A 'Diplomat' for me." Gavrilo said.
"'Lager' for me." Tom said.
"Yeah, I'll take the 'Hanky-Panky'." Joe said. I almost cringed at the way those 2 words sounded, coming from his mouth.
Both Pete and Andy ended up getting ciders. I personally found it to be a bit weird on how 2 of the drinks in the menu were both called 'Cider'. Like seriously, there were no descriptive words to tell the difference or anything like that. Pete called the one he had asked for 'the Spanish Cider', because, based on what the description said, it was from Spain. Andy, on the other hand, simply called his 'Cider' and just by that name alone, I assumed that it was the regular cider that came from America.
As we were waiting for our drinks to come, we all just sat there in our stools, talking among ourselves. Mostly about our wedding plans. But eventually our drinks did come and we all just drank the night away and talked some more among ourselves.
*~*~*~*~*
I just sat there, laughing at a funny story Gavrilo was telling me, and drinking my 5th drink. At this point, I'm pretty wasted. But y'know what? I don't care.
"So yeah." Gavrilo drawled. "That's what happened."
I chuckled. "Fascinating story, Gavro." I said. Gavro was Gavrilo's nickname. He really hated that nickname because it just didn't sound right in his opinion. He punched me in the arm in a playful manner.
