Entry #1:
Hey,
We managed to track down the gang and apparently their base of operations was in the place where Lennon died, aka the Dakota. Geez, creepy much? We made it to the location where we only found the man in charge, Gerard Way. None of his other lackeys were present. Tom and Gavrilo interrogated him. Once that was done, we had negotiated on what to do about the hostages. He wanted $500K in cash. If we gave it to him, he would let the hostages go. We shook hands in agreement. But of course, we're not going to let him get off that easy once we give him the money. Obviously, we're going to arrest him, just like any other criminal. There's basically just one thing left to think about and consider. Just got to figure out how to get the money.
Sincerely yours,
Patrick Stump
P.S.: I haven't seen Ryan in a year. I checked his social media, in the hope that I could learn something about his whereabouts, but he hasn't made any updates there. Also, I did see some "Missing" posters around the city. Apparently, Ryan's now officially gone missing. Now there's something to worry about.
Entry #2:
Hey,
Today we finally got him. We got Gerard! We gave him the $500K and then arrested him. Another successful case solved. Tyler and Josh, the hostages, are now free! No more will they be tormented like this again. We arrested Gerard. We did talk to Keanu, who got a job as a cop. He let us know that he'll be making sure that he doesn't escape. Afterward, Dallon texted Gavrilo to congratulate us on 6 successful cases in a row and that he also suggested that we take a break because we deserved it. So now the boys and I are now driving to the nearest hotel to stay for a night. We also are planning on hitting up the nearest bar to get drinks and to celebrate after we settle there. I have something to tell you. You're probably tired of me always forgetting to write something or for lately taking too long in between entries. I probably will never get anything done if I keep doing this. I talked to the boys about this last week and they all said that if I'm not going to make an entry in this app, I should stop altogether. I mean, journalism may be good. But like most things, it has a dark side. Which includes but not limited to:
Makes you live too much in your head.
Makes you a passive observer of your life (thinking about how you'll record it instead of experiencing what is happening).
Makes you self-obsessed.
Becomes a vehicle of blame instead of solutions.
Wallows in negative things that have happened to you.
So, to put this in short terms, this might, or might not, be my last entry. I definitely need rest and a break. Maybe I'll come back to this journal at some point in the future. But I don't know. I'm not Father Time. So, I guess this is goodbye.
Sincerely yours,
Patrick Stump
