I look back it was a boy about 18. He looked up at me concerned then I realized what he was looking at... He stared at the red marks that had been peeking out if my sweater. It looked as if he didn't know what to say. I yanked my arm back confused why I hadn't before.
"W-what happened," he stuttered.
"Nothing," I say walking away from him further into the store.
"Are you ok?" He asked as he followed behind me.
"I'm fine,"I say as a tears form in my eyes.
He pulled my arm once again but this time he pulled me towards him so that he could see my face. He didn't know how to react. He pulled me closer to him as he wrapped his arm around me. I didn't pull away this time I wrapped my arms around him as well.
After a few minutes I whipped the tears from my eyes and looked back up at him.
"Do you wanna go get some coffee or something?" He asked.
"One second I'll be right back," I say as I walk towards my dad.
"I'm going to go get coffee with a boy I met I'll take the subway home," I said to my dad.
"Ok I'll see you at home," he said as he waved and left the store.
I turned back to the boy who now that I look at is about 6'2. He's tall compared to me. I walked toward him and he smiled and grabbed my hand and walked me out of HMV.
"So what's your name?" I asked as we walked through the mall.
"Andy, what's yours?" He asked.
"Emily," I say picking at my fingers.
Once we got to Starbucks he asked me what I wanted I told him the order and he bought it for me. We sat down in the sitting area and barely anyone was there and that was strange for Toronto.
"So do you live here?" he asked breaking me from my thought.
"I do now but my mom lives in Charlottetown," I say staring at the floor.
"So do you self harm?" He asks cautiously.
"Yeah," I say not wanting to give a lot of details.
"I do too," he said lifting up his sleeve to reveal red and white little marks on his wrist.
I traced them with my fingers they looked like some of them had only been done a couple of hours ago they were still all red and puffy. I pulled up his other sleeve and sure enough there was the same thing.
"Pretty bad huh?" he said breaking me from my thought again but I guess it's for the best.
"Yeah," I said "and I though mine were bad."
I heard I shout from behind me.
"Andy!! Where were you I was looking all over why are you hanging out with this loser?" She asked him staring down at my ripped jeans and scared wrists.
"She, she's my friend and Ashley you're a bitch," he said wrapping his arm around me.
