Chapter 10: the Most Excellent Bridge Builder

Naruto, and Sasuke are standing in front of the Sandaime. At this point they both have logged 60 D-Ranks, and 19 C-Ranks. He says, "You two are going on a C-Rank mission to protect a bridge builder named Tazuna. You are to protect him from bandits, and highwaymen, as he travels back to Nami no Kuni, and as he is building his bridge. Pack for a month-long mission. ANBU bring Tazuna."

Anbu disappears in a Shunshin to bring Tazuna to the Mission Room. When Tazuna opens the door he sees a two ninjas. Tazuna asks, "Are these two kids going to protect me?"

This irked Naruto slightly, with Kurami wanting to tear the Old Man's throat out. As the Sandaime says, "Despite being fresh out of the Academy, these two are the best Shinobi in the village. Able to take down Jounin with single attacks."

Naruto asks, "Tazuna-san, do you want out help, or not?"

Tazuna just nods, as Sasuke says, "Good, because we are leaving right now."

And that is exactly what they do. Well, Tazuna still needed to pact his thing. So they had to wait for him to finish. But once Tazuna finished, the group of three left from the South Gate of Konoha.

An hour into traveling to Nami no Kuni, Naruto says, "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu." Two clones appears, one in front of Tazuna, and the other behind Tazuna. With the original Naruto on the left, and Sasuke on the right.

A day of traveling, both Naruto and Sasuke noticed a puddle Genjutsu. When they passed the puddle, two C-Rank missing-nin from Kiri appear. It's the Demon Brothers. Naruto lets them dispel the clones. Meizu laughs, and Gozu says, "You two are weak."

Naruto says, "Zanzō Bunshin no Jutsu!" He shunshins all around, making afterimages. Naruto then travels to each Afterimage slashing the two brothers with his Orange Maelstrom.

Sasuke says, "To, we need to interrogate them, not kill them."

Naruto says, "Ke, Those were C-Rank missing-nin. Which brings this mission to a B-Rank."

Sasuke looks over at Tazuna, with his three-tomoe Sharingan activated, and says, "We have half our mind to leave you here, and Go back to Konoha. Why did you lie?"

Tazuna gulps, and says, "A couple of years ago, Gato, as in Gato of Gato Industries appeared in Nami no Kuni. He then ran the place dry. Not even our Daimyo has enough money for a C-Rank mission. My village barely scraped up enough money. Any way the bridge I am building is threatening Gato's hold on Nami on Kuni, and he wants it gone. Gato is involved with human trafficking, weapons, and drugs. If you can sell it, he has his hands in it. I just want to show Nami no Kuni, and my grandson that heroes exist again."

Naruto finishes, saying, "And the way to do so is with the bridge."

Sasuke says, "We'll help. Only because I don't want my record to be tarnished, with a failed mission."

Naruto says, "Ke cares. He just has a tough exterior. Let's go."

So after days of traveling, they made it to the border of Hi no Kuni. Where they saw nothing, but the vastness of the ocean. It was peacefully beautiful, but not a beautiful as Kura-chan. Naruto thought, and thinks nothing can match her beauty.

Anyway, after a boat ride across, and a couple of hours of more walking, Sasuke throws a kunai at a tree. A scared white bunny can be seen with a kunai, but a centimeter from it's head. The two Shinobi instantly knew what's wrong, as they hear a sword, buzzing through the air.

Sasuke drops Tazuna to the ground with him. As Naruto just stands there, letting the giant blade pass right through him, Putting his Hiraishin formula on it. As it gets lodged into a tree. With a man landing backwards on the blade.

The man is a tall and noticeably muscular, with light grayish skin, short spiky black hair, dark brown eyes, and small eyebrows. He was normally seen wearing bandages like a mask over the bottom half of his face. Under his mask, he had a relatively narrow jawline and jagged-teeth, a trait he shared with his fellow Swordsmen. He wears his Kiri hitai-ate sideways on his head.

Sasuke says, "Zabuza Momochi, Kirigakure no Kijin."

Zabuza chuckles, as he says, "So Genin know who I am."

Sasuke smirks, as he asks, "Who said we were Genin?"

Naruto says, "The Sandaime said, despite being fresh out of the Academy, these two are the best Shinobi in the village. Able to take down Jounin with single attacks."

Sasuke says, "To, I'm so going to kick your ass."

Naruto says, "Well you would be able to kick my ass if any of your Jutsu could touch me."

Zabuza asks, "Are we going to fight, or what?"

Naruto, and Sasuke together yells, "SHUT UP! WE ARE HAVING A DISCUSSION HERE!"

Zabuza then asks, "So it's okay for me to just kill the bridge builder?"

Sasuke, nor Naruto answer the question. Since they are now scrutinizing the new enemy.

Zabuza is shirtless, with his chest only covered by a belt to which he attached his Kubikiribōchō, wearing baggy pants with the striped pattern typical of Kirigakure and mimetic wrist-warmers extending up to his elbows, with matching leg-warmers.

Naruto asks, " So you are Mr. Moo Moo, the Misty Demon, wielder of the Giant Killer Butter Knife?"

Zabuza says, "I don't know how my attack didn't clieve you in half, but never call me that again."

Naruto smirks, as he disappears in a Crimson Flash. Appearing right next to Zabuza hitting the man with a palm strike to the shoulder, where Naruto also put his Hiraishin formula. Naruto then again disappears in another Crimson Flash, and reappears next to Sasuke.

Zabuza then hops off of his sword. He says, "Kirigakure no Jutsu." Which creates a heavy mist around the area. With both Sharingan Users copying the technique.

Naruto says, "Futon: Daitoppa!" Dispersing the mist.

Zabuza curses. He always hated Wind users, and the blonde is no different.

Naruto throws one of his tri-pronged kunai passed, creating a Kage bunshin. With the clone appearing next to the kunai. Now with the two Naruto's both holding a tri-pronged kunai, and his Orange Maelstrom in a reverse grip. Naruto throws the kunai at each other, and says, "Kage Bunshin: Hiraishingiri." And in a Crimson Flash the two Narutos catch the kunai, and a deep slash appears on Zabuza from the shoulder to the waist from both sides. Making Zabuza fall to the ground, knocked out.

Sasuke says, "He ain't dead. Now come out. Also To, I'm fighting him next time."

And in an Ice Shunshin, a "Kiri Hunter-nin" appears. Said "Hunter-nin" picks up Zabuza, and is about to leave, when Naruto says, "Kuchiyose no Jutsu." Summoning a Kasaru.

Naruto, as he places his Hiraishin formula on the"Hunter-ni", he says, "Gato will betray you guys. So when you want to stop being in his employment, find this crow. Tell it your decision. The crow will notify me, and tell me your decision."

Sasuke asks, "Is there a place we can stay?"

Tazuna says, "You can stay with my family. It's the least I can do."

Naruto asks, "How far is it from here?"

Tazuna replies, "An hour. "

Sasuke says, "Well you know where we are going. So let's go."

So an hour later, true to Tazuna's word they made it to his house.
