"Ugh..." I slumped my head down on the counter of the coffee shop. I felt like utter crap. From last night onwards I made a vow to never drink again. My head felt like it was going to explode.
"Ian!" David said, walking past me and whipping me with a dirty cloth...right on my ass. "Look sharp! We've already had three customers and I've had to take their orders because you're practically falling asleep at the job."
Finally lifting my head, I looked over at David, squinting from the light shining through the windows. I didn't know why I had to be at work so early, especially the morning after a party. Who the hell gets up at 7am just for a coffee anyway.
"My head hurts. I have a hang over." I muttered, though some part of me felt pretty bad ass for experiencing a hang over, even if it did hurt like a bitch.
God knows what I did last night. I really hoped it wasn't something too embarrassing.
"Yeah well..." David laughed, cleaning up the dirty glasses. "You were pretty darn hilarious last night, Ian."
"Hmm..." I said distantly. "W-wait what did I do?"
David smirked. Oh boy...I bet this is going to be bad. "Watch this. Some guy at my college filmed you." He pulled out his phone and beckoned me over.
Doubtful on whether I wanted to see all the embarrassment I caused myself, I sidled closer to David, already blushing.
In horror, I watching my half naked self, dance (more like have a spasm) on the table and scream the lyrics to the Pokémon theme song and Baby. My cheeks were burning with humiliation. On the other hand, David found it hysterical. Great, supportive friend he is.
Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, that guy appeared in the scene. Oh my god... I didn't... I did. I embarrassed myself in front of That Guy. I even got Mari annoyed! That's why she was cold with me this morning.
I couldn't believe what I had done. God! And it was all in front of that guy. His name was...something like Ant-something. I forgot.
I wanted to crawl into a whole and die.
After a while of me gently thumping my head against the wall out of self hatred and embarrassment, David put me back on counter duty.
I wasn't too sure I wanted to show my face to anyone! What if someone from the party showed up. Someone who saw everything. What if...
"Oh no..." I whispered hoarsely, freezing to the spot when the last person I wanted to ever see ever... Walked through the door.
Ant. Along with a few of his friends who I guessed went to the party as well. I recognized a few of them.
"Ha. Ian look who it is! It's Anthony!" David said with a grin, giving me a stupid smile and nudging me annoyingly in the arm repeatedly. So that's what's his name was.
"Haha...yeah. Great." I said weakly, clenching my teeth and deciding when the best time to run away was.
As they approached, my cheeks heated up until I was almost one hundred percent sure I looked like a tomato.
"Guys! Look!" An attractive blonde guy, who was among Anthony's party, shouted. He pointed over at me and my eyes grew wide. "It's that crazy little drunk kid!"
I cursed in a yelpish sort of squeak, ducking down behind the counter as soon as I could. Tears formed in my eyes due to embarrassment.
I heard snickering from the other side of the counter and a few voices coming closer to me.
"Ian?" David smiled passively, looking down at me and tutting. "What are you doing? Stand up and greet our customers politely!" He said with an evil grin and hoisted me up by my apron.
Curse him...
I blinked, making an audible gulp and staring at the customers helplessly. "H-hello! W-w-what can I get for y-you guys today? A-are you paying all t-together?" I stammered, blushing all over my face and the redness darkening by the second.
A few of the girls giggled and waved at me, playing with their hair. They were pretty. My eyes were drawn to Anthony like magnet though and when he noticed, he gave me a friendly smile. At least he wasn't too disgusted in me after what he witnessed yesterday.
"We'll all just get a latte." Another boy said, chuckling in amusement.
"Wait. I'll have a chocolate frappé instead." Anthony cut in, flipping his hair put his face.
Maybe it was just me, but everything seemed to go in slow motion. He was so gorgeous. Like not in a gay way but like, if I was a chick-my anaconda would want.
Blushing and fumbling around like an idiot, I squeaked Davids name. "U-uh...f-four chocolate Frappe's and one latt-"
"No, Ian. It's four Latte's and one chocolate Frappé." Anthony said, laughing and shaking his head.
He laughed at me. I really am a laughing stock. I won't ever be able to live it down! I'll be a freak for the rest of my life and I wont be able to become a song writer because I got drunk once and my life will be over!
"Th-thankyou, Anthony..." I mumbled meekly, keeping my gaze anywhere but on his.
There was no need to repeat this to David since he already heard.
"Thanks. Maybe I should hire Anthony to work here instead you, Ian. Since he actually knows how to listen." He ruffled my hair up with his hand and chuckled. "Honestly."
He probably meant it in a friendly way but it made me feel useless.
"Hey, aren't you that little drunk kid?" One of the girls squealed.
"Oh my god. Yeah!" The other one said exitably. Their voices were so hysterically high pitched I thought my ear drums were going to burst. "You are so adorably cute!" They squealed in unison, reaching over the counter to pinch my cheeks.
My face grew hot and I knew I was blushing again. I felt so embarrassed being treated like a barby doll! I hated it!
"N-no I'm not! That was some other...weirdo. Totally not me. I-I don't even go to parties!" I lied, grimacing and stammering again.
"Aww no! You are that guy! I saw you!" The girl said, looking at her friends for approval. "You were that guy dancing!"
"Yeah that was awesome." One of the guys said, nudging Anthony's arm playfully. "Really made my night. What's your name, little guy?"
Little guy? He thinks he can get away with that?!
"I-I'm Ian!" I piped in a small voice and stood up a little taller. "I'm not little though!"
Anthony and the rest of his friends laughed. "Alright. Alright. I'm sorry."
"Ian. Show them to their table. Ask them if they are eating in!" David hissed.
"Are you eating in?" I asked sheepishly, allowing my hair to drop over my eyes. At least it hid the embarrassment which lurked within them.
"Yeah. If that's alright?" Anthony spoke for them and bit his lip at the end. That little gesture. That lip bite made my cheeks almost catch alight. I thought I was on fire, I was blushing so hard.
He must have noticed because the next time I looked up at him he was smirking, watching me those warm brown eyes.
I really hoped they weren't staying long. As the minutes went on I seemed to becoming more of an embarrassment. I wanted to die.
Sorry this chapter was a bit boring and bad. But the next chapter will be SO MUCH BETTER. I promise! How u guys liking the story so far? ;)
