The gamer chick (Re-writing)

~Chapter 5~

Natalie was currently sitting on her bed all dressed up, and dreading the day ahead. She let her thoughts wander a little too far.Today is the day that pretty much decides my fate. Ok maybe I'm overreacting but I don't know how I'm going to hold up emotionally. What if I never see Kate again? That would make my biggest fear come true. And of course just after Luke and I start talking more this happens.  "NAT WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE!" Oh how wonderful. Nat was a little relieved that Kate was going to be with me her. Kate got in the car with Natalie and her parents. Kate knew it was going to be awkward but this was like a new level of awkward and tension. When they got to the courthouse Kate looked over at Natalie. She was completely pale Kate had only seen her this pale once and that was because she had a stomach flu. Kate lightly squeezed her hand for support. She looked at Kate and smiled but it was obviously forced.

After Natalie told Luke she was going to court today, Luke decided he would go for support. Even though he wasn't technically invited. Luke walked into the kitchen and seen Michael eating his cereal typical Michael. "Where are you going?" "Natalie goes to court today." "THATS TODAY?!" "Yeah wait why do you care?" Michael started blushing and tried to hide it by looking at his cereal "no reason." "Riiight save me some cereal?" "Get your own" "that is my cereal" "shut up." Luke rolled my eyes and left so he wouldn't be late.

Kate and Natalie started walking towards the court desperately trying to get away from Nat's parents. They sat at a bench and made small talk for a while. All of a sudden Natalie felt somebody's hands covering her eyes. "Guess who" She was shocked that Luke had came she decided to mess with him. "Michael" "you are a terrible guesser" Nat laughed and slid over a little so he could sit down. "Hey Kate" "Hey." It kicked in all of a sudden that the Luke Hemmings was sitting next to Natalie and supporting her after a week of knowing her. She resisted the urge to scream but it didn't seem real. Maybe herlife was going ok after all. Natalie, Luke, and Kate talked about this and that when Natalie's  parents came up and said it was time to go in. Luke sat in the back with Kate since Natalie had to sit with her parents. Natalie zoned out for most of it until she heard the words "Joint custody." The judge hit the gavel and walked out, everyone else walked out as well. Natalie's parents said they had things to talk about and left together. Kate and Natalie gave eachother a nervous look when Luke caught on "You two can come with me." They all got into Luke's car "So where to?" "I''m kind of scared to go back home so I guess Kate's" It got silent and Natalie's stomach decided to break the silence. Luke suddenly turned around "How about we go eat somewhere and celebrate Natalie not moving" Kate and Natalie agreed. "Kate you could invite Michael" Kate's cheeks blushed instantly "Why would I do that?" Luke laughed lightly "You don't have to it was just a suggestion." "Out of curiousity where are we going" "Red lobster" Natalie watched as Kate followed Luke's advice and laughed too herself. After she seen how obvious Kate was with Michael she hoped she wasn't that obvious with Luke.

Michael aimlessly went through the tv channels not finding anything on. He sighed and repositioned myself for the hundredth time. Suddenly Michael felt the couch vibrate. He looked for his phone and finally got it out from the couch. 

From Kate: We're going to Red lobster wanna come?"

Michael text back yes and rushed to get ready. He went through his closet and realized he didn't have a suit. Ashton seen Michael hurrying around like a lunatic and laughed.

 "What are you doing?"

 "do you have a suit I could borrow"

 He lifted one of his eyebrows and gave Michael a weird look. 

"Kate, Natalie and Luke are going to Red lobster and Kate invited me. So do you have a suit or not?"

 "Yeah look in my closet, loverboy"

 "I'm not in love"

 "So you wouldn't mind if I dated Kate?"

 "WHAT WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"

 Ashton crossed his arms "fine I may like her a little" 

"If that's a little I would hate to see love anyway aren't you going to be late?" 

"Well if one of my bandmates hadn't interrogated me" 

"Anytime man" Michael rolled his eyes and got Ashton's suit which barely fit. Luckily they were only 5 minutes away from Red lobster. For most of the drive Michael couldn't help but think about Kate. If she invited him that means she likes him and wants him there.. right? Why are crushes and love so complicated? Michael wondered barely able to concentrate on driving. When Michael got in he found them at a booth in the back Luke and Natalie were sitting next to each other and Kate was sitting next to Natalie. Michael sat next to Kate as they all greeted him. Luke and Natalie were in deep conversation about who knows what leaving an awkward moment for Michael and Kate. "Watch this" Michael whispered to Kate and hit Luke with a spitball causing him to glare at Michael. "What Kate did it" "MICHAEL!!" Everybody laughed as Kate blushed and tried to hide her face.  An hour later they had finished eating and were talking about random things. Natalie looked at her phone and sighed "My parents talked about whatever they wanted to talk about and want me home." "I'll take you home" Luke offered causing Natalie to smile Michael hated to admit it but he thought they were kinda cute together.

When Luke, Natalie and Kate got to the Red lobster they were packed. Once they got seated Luke and Natalie started talking immediately. Kate was glad she invited Michael otherwise she was going to have a long night. She looked up and seen a red head in a suit and her jaw almost dropped. Michael looks good with a suit and his hair suprisingly compliments it. She thought to herself and forced herself to look away. After he said hey to Natalie and Luke they got involved in their conversation again. Michael sat next to Kate "Hey"

 "Hey,Kate how are you?"

Kate couldn't tell  if she was imagining things or not, but Michael seemed genuinely interested in her. "Bored I don't know what I would've done if you hadn't showed up" he laughed and looked at Luke and Natalie. 

"It really would be a shame if the cat got their tongues" Michael said smirking causing Kate to laugh. They both looked at Luke and Natalie again Michael leaned closer to Kate "watch this" he whispered a few seconds later Luke was hit with a spitball. Luke glared at Michael who looked as innocent as he could. Indicating he had done this stuff a lot "what Kate did it" Kate's jaw dropped "MICHAEL!!" Everybody started laughing as Kate hid her face the second she felt her cheeks get hot. After that Luke and Natalie got a little more involved with the conversation. A few minutes later Kate felt Natalie's phone vibrate she looked at it and sighed "my parents talked about whatever they wanted to talk about and want me home." Kate gave her a sympathetic smile she smiled back. "I'll take you home" Luke offered Kate had to resist the urge to aww but this seemed similar to several fanfictions she had read. Kate was kind of happy when Luke and Natalie left as terrible as that sounds, but now her and Michael could have some time together. Michael moved in front of Kate so they would both have more room "yay now we're not sitting on each other" I laughed at Michael's excitement as he playfully glared at me. "Meanie"

 "aww did I hurt poor wittle Michael's feelings?"

 "Yes" he poked his lips out and faked a sniffle.

 The night went on with the two of them joking around like they'd known eachother for ages. They both  suddenly got quiet. And they  happened to look up at the same time "I never noticed how blue your eyes are" I smiled before I realized what was happening we were both leaning in.
