Monday afternoon she called us and said yes but that Paul and Lucy wanted to see us in the office to go through things first. I grinned not worried, I was fairly certain that the talk would be about not chasing Amalie, keeping it professional and not misbehaving.
Rio and I had talked long and hard since we had seen her and had agreed whatever it took, we needed her, she was the key to us getting to the Olympics and if more happened well, that would be a bonus. We had both agreed we were interested but that the Olympics had to come first, that was our dream.
"She said yes" we told Mom and she smiled at us before looking serious.
"You'll behave" she warns and we grin at her.
"Yes Mom, we will behave, we have promised her we will" Rio tells her.
"Okay then, so how do you plan to do this logistically?" she asks and I look at her.
"What do you mean?"
"Amalie is living with Paul and Lucy in London, is she going to be part time if so then she can commute form there or if she's going to be full time, she could stay here" Mom explains and I grin at the possibilities.
"We'll talk to her and see" I promise.
"Its a three month trial isn't it" Mom reminds us and we nod.
"Then I suggest the next three months things stay as they are and she commutes part time and you decide after the trial period what will work best for you all"
"Do you think Aunt Lucy will go for it?" I ask nervously.
"I don't think it's her you need to convince" Mom laughed leaving us to our planning.
The following day we head down to London as soon as our classes are finished, eager to get everything in place.
Lindy waves us through when we get there and we go in search of Amalie, finding her in the break room with Lucy.
"Boys!" Aunt Lucy exclaims getting up to hug us "I wasn't expecting you today" she scolded and we smiled.
"Amalie said you wanted to talk to us before anything was settled and this was the first chance we had to come" I replied, grinning as Aunt Lucy shakes her head before waving at Amalie.
"Take them into room 2, I will find Paul and meet you in there" she instructs walking off mumbling to herself.
"Hey" Rio greets her softly.
"That was quick" Amalie laughs at us and I smile, glad to see she is relaxed with us.
"We need you" I tell her honestly and she rolls her eyes at me.
"We'll see" she laughs and waves us out of the room. "Come on, lets get this over with"
Uncle Paul gives us a knowing look when he comes in with Aunt Lucy.
"Well boys, you know Amalie has agreed to be your assistant but I want to make sure you understand this is a three month trial, at the end of that time, we will re-evaluate the situation. However if at any point Amalie wishes to end the work, she can, do you understand"
"Yes sir" I reply and Rio follows.
"Okay now let's go over her duties and what she expects from you two" Uncle Paul pulls out his note pad and starts making plans and we spend the next two hours agreeing or arguing with him.
The end result is in our favour, Amalie will come to Kingswood every Friday, Saturday and Sunday to assist us with training and events and take a couple of days off mid week and spend a couple of days in the office with Lucy.
Mom had already spoken to Aunt Lucy, who had agreed the daily commute would be too much and this way Amalie has the best of both worlds, with the possibility of changing it after the three month trial finishes.
At the end of the meeting Aunt Lucy and Uncle Paul have to rush off to other meetings waving at us and telling Amalie they will see her later.
"Thank you" I tell her and she looks at me, brows raised.
"What for?"
"Giving us a chance" Rio replies for us.
"You may regret it yet" she warns and we all chuckle.
"I have a feeling you will be the best thing to happen to us in a long time" I tell her and grin as she blushes.
"Get out of here and work hard, I will see you Friday and be ready to train, Paul gave me your trainers details and I'm going to get in touch with him and arrange a meeting" she tells us, seeing us out and we wonder how much Jack will tell her and if it will put her off. I lean down and give her a quick peck on the cheek, Rio kissing the other side once I step back.
"See you Friday" we call leaving her watching us with a strange expression on her face.
