KEESHA

"How can anyone be heartless enough to let that happen to their soulmates? Since I am your soulmate, do we have to get married soon?"

"Well, it's your choice. Do you accept me as your soulmate?"

"Even though you bit me and left me at my own doorstep, I can't let you be executed. It would be just too cruel of me."

Hearing this brought a huge grin on Damien's face which reached his eyes. His face lit up like a kid given a lifetime supply of his favorite candy.

"You have no idea how happy hearing you say that makes me. And as for getting married, it's your choice as to how slow you want this thing to go. Though I must tell you my identity before you decide anything as I want you to fully trust me and not have any doubts about me. I, am the future king of the vampire nation. Their leader and their idol, which makes you, their future Queen. I know it is a lot to take in and you are overwhelmed but I want you to know that I am here for you, for forever. You take as much time as you like, no one is going to rush you." Damien told me with a sincere smile on his face.

"I wanna go home," I told him truthfully, "I need time to take it all in and let it settle down. I hope  you understand."

"It's alright, I can understand."

Damien drove me home and let me be but not before telling me that he was here for me and that if I had any question on my mind, I could ask it without hesitation. It was sweet of him to let me know that. That night I kept twisting and turning in my bed all night long. I couldn't sleep with all my thoughts roaming wild. Next morning, I woke up with dark circles under my eyes and looking like a mess. I got ready and cleaned myself up as much as I could. I go downstairs only to see Damon sitting sipping his coffee.

" Wow, you look like someone ran a truck over you," he said teasingly.

"Ughhh, I know but I cleaned up as much as I could, so stop teasing me. Don't you have work to get to today?"

"My boss had an emergency this morning so he told me to come in late today."

"Good then you can drop me off to school today," I told him excitedly. I loved it when Damon dropped me off at school, it reminded me that I was not alone and he was there for me in place of dad. Dad.....I really missed him. I was always a daddy's girl growin up.Nevertheless I know that he is happy and mom is there with him.

After Damon dropped me off, I felt a bit better. I go to my locker keeping my bag in it and removing the books for my first lecture when Joey suddenly scares me from behind.

"Holy freaking hell Joey! How many times have I told you to stop creeping up on me," I say a hand on my racing heart, taking deep breaths.

"Well then you should have called me yesterday after your date with Damien. Give me the deets. What'd you guys do? Did you guys kiss?" he started rambling.

"Nothing like that happened Joey. He drove me to a secret spot where there was a table for two placed in front of a really magical lake and then we talked," I told him walking towards my first lecture.

"Awwww, that sounds really nice. Note to self, take my future girl to a such a cute date," he said making me laugh and him joining me. We pass Patty and her group of bitches from whom I get the regular glares and Joey the weird pouty looks. How did they even do that? Anyways, we get to the class and take our seats. Joey was telling me about some weird dream he had the previous night when my eyes connect with those familiar green ones. I can see Joey looking at me and then at Damien from my lateral view. He stands up as Damien comes towards our desk. They greet each other the way men do, shake their hands and a pat on the back.

Seems like they had a secret exchange of words when I was busy gawking at Damien because Joey leaves and Damien takes his place beside me.

"Hi, what's up?" Damien greets me as if we didn't just talk about him being a vampire yesterday.

"Nothing much, just couldn't sleep well last night," I told him as I couldn't help but yawn.
