"Don't you think you're maybe getting too worked up?" Kathy asks as she enters the kitchen. Elliot is at the sink, scrubbing away at the dishes. She's afraid they're going to shatter under the pressure he's applying.
"Something not right and they're not doing anything about it." Elliot grumbles back, his hands flying into the soapy water to grab another plate.
"I shouldn't have told you. I knew you'd act like this." She sighs, crossing his arms across her chest and dropping her head.
"Shouldn't have told me?" Elliot snaps back, flipping around. "The school has three victims saying they were raped in the parking lot and they're still having all of the homecoming actives with little protection."
"I'm sure the school would love it if you would volunteer your free hours to go and watch the homecoming dance." Kathy says.
Elliot sighs, rubbing his temple. "I don't have time to go and watch the dance. I have plenty of other cases I should be working on."
"And that's the thing!" Kathy suddenly shouts, making him open his eyes. "Everyone is too busy to offer their time! The school doesn't have enough money to pay extra people to come and watch the dance. That's why nothing is changing even though they have some creep stalking these kids and raping them!"
Elliot lets out a sigh, dropping his head.
Kathy slowly walks over to him, gently touching his arm. "Please, El. I know this isn't your case and you have plenty you could be working on, but this is our children we're talking about."
Elliot takes a deep breath, nodding his head. "Yeah. Yeah, okay. I'll go tomorrow night." He quietly agrees.
"Thank you." Kathy smiles, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding.

"Hey, Stabler."
Elliot turns, looking for the owner of the voice. Two detectives from the nearby station come walking over to him clearly annoyed.
"Hey." He says, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's kinda looking like you're trying to step into our case here." One of them pipes out, tilting his head.
Elliot shakes his head, holding up his hands in surrender. "No, no." He says. He points at the sticker on his shirt. "Volunteer." He clarifies. "I got two kids out here tonight and I don't wanna see either of them hurt. Just here as a parent."
"Well, if you're lying to us, at least it's a good cover story." The other says, gently patting Elliot's shoulder before they walk off. Elliot watches them leave, heading towards the principal.
He lets out a sigh, shaking his head. He feels weird standing here with a few other parents to over their kids, but he can't image how the kids feel. They've always complained about the few teachers that watched them to make sure nothing weird was going on, now imagine people's parents making sure you were behaving.
As he's scanning the crowd, he notices Lizzie walking towards him. One of her friends are close behind her and something on their faces are making his stomach start churning. "Dad." Lizzie says once she reaching him.
"Yeah, what is it?" He immediately asks.
"There's a few boys talking over in that back corner about some really messed up things." She says, rubbing her arm and looking at her friend.
"Messed up things? Like what?" Elliot presses, his eyes searching for the group of boys.
"I don't wanna say it. It's just weird to talk about with you." She replies, a blush forming on her cheeks.
"Are they talking about hurting someone?" Elliot asks, grabbing her shoulders so she'll look at him.
She nods her head, almost feeling relieved as the light pressure he's applying on her arms. "Like, you know." She mumbles. "Like sex stuff?" She quietly adds, her face scrunching.
Elliot nods, looking back into the crowd then back at her. "Stay over here. Thanks for the heads up." He says before heading towards the boys.
He marches through the crowd of dancing teens, which all protest his beeline through them. He ignores them, not caring what a bunch of teens have to say about him. After all, he's trying to save them.
He grabs one of the boys arms, looking around at the group to get a good look. All of theirs eyes widen in shock as the boy he's holding shouts for him to let him go. "What are you boys talking about?" He asks.
"Nothing you should be worried about." One of sneers, getting a few laughs.
Elliot fakes a laugh, looking around at them. He's trying to hold back the fire growing inside of him, but it feels like he can only see red. "Well, it must be pretty bad if you can't me. Maybe we should have a walk over to Principal Barnes." He threatens.
"You can't make us go over there."
"Oh, you're right." Elliot says, faking a smile. "I guess I can't make you go to him. But, I can get him to come over here."
He flips around, whistling to get everyone's attention. The dancing teens ignore him, going back to hang out. Principal Barnes and the two detectives come over to Elliot, immediately eyeing the group of boys.
Elliot whispers into their ears the situation and leaves them alone. He heads back over to Lizzie, gently smiling at her. "Is everything okay?" She asks, looking around him at the boys.
"Yup. Everything is all being taken care of." Elliot nods. He gesture to the dance floor. "Why don't you get back out there and dance?"
She rolls her eyes, smiling at him as she walks away from him.
"Love you." He adds, making her cheeks flush in embarrassment. She and her friend quickly hide in the group of teens, losing themselves between the brightly colored dresses and flashing lights.
Elliot glances over at the group of boys, feeling a sense of relief since the first time he got here. He watches as the group is taken out of the school gym by the detectives. Elliot lets out a little sigh, glad that the situation is being handled.
He's glad that his daughter, and other girls, are safe tonight.
