It's now Tuesday morning and I am currently taking a shower in preparation of some outing planned by Ashley. She insisted there was a place that she thought I needed to visit.

Ashley wouldn't say where we were going and that had me wondering what she had planned since Ashley never kept our destinations a secret.

Suddenly, my mind flashes back to yesterday morning, the day I found out my apartment had been, well demolished, that's the only way I could honestly describe it.

Everything I owned in that place had been destroyed, along with the apartment itself. Doors were torn off the hinges and the walls slashed by what looked like claws.

*Flashback*

Ashley, Chris, Matt and I, were all in a large living room the size of a ballroom, at ten o'clock that morning.

One side of the room was set up with enough couches and chairs to seat about twenty people. I'd been thoroughly amazed when we first entered that room.

There was also a large entertainment center, along with built-in shelves on the walls on each side of it, filled with hundreds of DVDs and CD's.

Off to one side situated by the windows, there was a state-of-the-art computer system on a desk, that was hooked up to the surround sound speakers that were strategically situated throught the enormous room.

The other side of the living room was set up with two billiard tables, two foosball tables, two poker tables, and also four small, square tables, which I assumed were for playing board games that were locates on shelves up against one wall. They even had four pinball machines!

The room was empty of people, except for the four of us. We were in the middle of a conversation, small talk really, when rapid, heavy footsteps alerted us to someone approaching.

A tall, very muscular man in a police uniform entered the room moments later. He reminded me of Bubba, from the TV show, In The Heat Of The Night.

The officer bowed his head in Matt's direction when he caught sight of him, then walked closer to where we sat. "Al-Uh sir, " He stumbled over his words, though he recovered quickly.

Matt rose to his feet and the two men shook hands. The officer then turned to Ashley and Chris who sat close to each other. "Hey Ashley, Chris."

Finally he turned to look down at me with a friendly smile. "Carl, this is Silvia Eastman," Matt informed him. I was about to stand up to greet him but Carl shook his head.

"No need to get up Miss, " Carl said with a friendly smile. As we shook hands, Carl's eyes looked me over, much the same as a predator would eye its prey.

A soft growl to my right surprised me and had me turning my gaze to Matt with raised brows. Matt didn't pay me any mind as he gave Carl an angry look.

Carl cleared his throat, his eyes quickly turning away before taking a seat to my left, in the closest chair to where I was seated. Once he was seated Carl set down a yellow folder on the small table next to his chair.

Carl then pulled out a small note pad and pen from his breast pocket before looking at me again in a business-like manner. "Before we begin Ms. Eastman-"

I held up my hand and he stopped. "Please call me Silvia, " I politely asked with a smile.

"Alright, Silvia. I need to see some form of identification to verify your identity."

Having suspected he would ask that, I had grabbed my purse before I left my room. I handed him my driver's license and he took it with a smile.

Carl looked it over and made notes on his pad before handing it back to me. Next, he began asking questions such as what day and time I left my apartment, the names of the motels I stayed at, and so on.
