"Life is not what you expect: it is made up of the most unexpected twists and turns."
-IlaiyaraajaLEXI'S POV
The past two days of my second year in college has been nothing but crap!! But today I am happy. I am happy because my dad is coming to see me. I already have the plan in my mind- go to college, ignore Mr. Hunk, meet some friends, have my favourite milkshake and come back home so that I can go and pick up dad.
My mood is fresh today so I willingly wake up when my alarm goes off. After I bathe and clean up, I move to my wardrobe. There I find a note attached on it-
Lexi, we gotta talk. Meet me after school in the forever resto.
-MargotOkay. Now that is something. I do not let the curiosity spoil my happy mood- still what is Margo up to?.
Quickly I get ready and hop into my car. Indeed I am in a happy mood but I've a feeling that I and happiness are two parallel lines. We never intersect. Hopefully all will be well, according to my plan.
It's the second period goin' on and everything is perfect as of now except for the fact that I have been a bit clumsy today. I tripped my foot over the staircase and bumped straight into Emily which was very humiliating and the fact that I am wearing a skinny top isn't helping either cuz I think I heard a ripping-sound. When I checked in the washroom, it was a mere tear at the side of my top, so if I raise my hand, one could get a sneak peek of my black bra.
Henceforth, I have been very careful with my gestures since I have a habit of using my hands a lot while talking. Either I use my hands a lot or simply fold them cuz otherwise my hands get sweaty and I start fidgeting with 'em.
It is Mrs. Molly's class now, so I am pretty much enjoying it. But as it is said, 'happiness is short-lived', there comes a notice-
'The KNOWLINGTON COLLEGE is- as usual- participating in the "Rock the Stage" competition. But this year is a special case because it has a twist....' Everyone starts hooting and clapping at that. Bloody newsmongers.... 'this year we are selecting pairs not on the basis of their dancing skills but on the basis of a lucky draw. Girls' and boys' names will be put in two different bowls and 6 names will be picked up from each bowl, giving us 6 pairs of dancers. Now, as some of you may have never learnt dancing in your life before, we'll provide the selected students with personal trainers and a time of 1 month to learn it. We have the competition next month. So, get ready for this year's "RTS" competition'."Woah that's so freaking cool", said someone.
"I hope I'll become Jake's partner. He's so hot", chirped another.
"Guys how can you forget Martin. Just the thought that I may get a chance to dance with him makes me swoon ." Seriously doesn't people have any business to mind. I spite at the poor tastes of this cake-faced girls.
A bowl is kept on the table and we all are supposed to write our names on a small piece of paper and put it inside.
Gosh! I seriously do not want to participate in the middle of my semesters. Also, I've never fancied dancing not that I don't like it but there's a big difference between to be an entertainer and being entertained, out of which I've always been the latter.Idea! What if I don't write my name and just fold a blank piece of paper instead. Brilliant. I can do the job, get away with what I want and yet not get noticed.
Accordingly, before goin' out for my next class. I simply put a blank paper inside the bowl and move out. The moment my feet are outside of the classroom, I heave a sigh of relief. Thank God no one noticed. Uff, I have never done such disobedient activities. I know it's nothing big but I've always been the compliant student.
