Arranged To Be Married (Editing)

Chapter 6

I was out on shopping with my family for my engagement next week. Just then I received someone's msg, I opened my cell to see and was shocked to receive some weird msg from an unknown number.

"Hi babes ",It states.

I was really furious and typed," You messaged a wrong number"

Fast reply came from that side, "Then lets make it right, what's your name sweety",it read.

"None of your bloody business", I  typed and blocked that number. My sister then asked me what happened looking at my pissed off mood and i said nothing and mother then asked me colour of suit I'll be wearing during my engagement ceremony, after shopping everything we went back home. My father was watching kabbadi match,i sat to watch the match. Then 15 minutes later my father said, "Mahi, today Ruhan called me and ask for your number,he wants to talk about something, so answer if you receive call from this number", he showed me some number but I don't know why I am feeling this is a familiar number and I checked the number I've put in block list and it turned out to be Ruhan's number and I thought inside 'lets play this stranger game mr ruhan' smiling wickedly inside. After reaching my room I unblocked that number and typed, 'I'm sorry for being rude earlier but I guess I also need someone to talk to but there is this one problem. I'm already married '

Then few minutes later I received new msg from that number stating he don't have any problem with that as long as he has someone to love. And I smiled at the reply and typed, "My 5 kids will be so happy to get a new father."

And my phone ring again stating new incoming msg, "Since when do you know this is my number Mahi?"

"Since few minutes ago, my father told me. Why did you play like that, you know what, I blocked you earlier , thinking of you as some pervert, if my father wouldn't have told me, you would have stayed blocked forever.", I replied.

Then few minutes later I received a call from ruhan, I picked up and said,"Hi Mr stranger you gave me quite a fright today"

" I'm so sorry mahi, I was just playing around, thought to tease you a bit before revealing myself."came his reply.
" It's ok", I said.

"But 5 kids and marriage, seriously?",  he said laughing hard.

"Yes it was just to answer back for your mischief", I replied

"You are quite a strong match for my pranks", he said and I smiled at his reply.

" I hope you are not upset for my behavior Mahi",he asked again.

"No its fine I guess, no hard feelings. So what do you want to discuss?, my father told me you want to discuss something important ",I said.

"Oh yes, I wanted to ask whether you are fine with one month as our day for marriage ? If not then I'll ask to postpone it, you don't have to feel burdened, we can wait for 2 years",he said.

"No, no it is fine Ruhan, I guess our parents are right, 2 years is quite a long time, what if you came to find out I am a very boring person and don't marry me after 2 years?", I teasingly said.
"No mahi, that can never happen but it can happen other way round,so lets get married soon before you find out about me",he said laughing along with me.

"Mahi, I also wanted to know, if it is fine for you to shift to new place after 2 months?"he asked.

"Where are we shifting Ruhan?",I asked him.

"Does another country sound scary?",he asked

" Yes, very much ",I replied and found my heart beating very fast.

"Actually Mahi I'm assigned to USA for my next mission. I came to find out today only that is why I wanted to ask about your opinion, sorry mahi for putting you through this tough phase. But we both can survive this change together. We will found new job for you there and whenever you feel like missing your family you can come back and meet them. But if it is too much then you stay here with my parents and I'll get back to you after mission.",he said

" No no it is fine, we both will be able to do this together", I replied.

"So lets get through this together? ",he asked.

" Yes let's do this together ",I replied back.

After talking some more he told me that it was his mother's opinion that he should talk to me before deciding something because we both have to spend our lives together, so should have equal say in our decisions and she also felt that instead of leaving new bride here, we both should go together. I found it really nice to hear that his mother is so nice and understanding. After talking some more we both say our byes and cut call. I thought about how this new phase is going to bring so many changes for me, firstly I'm marrying after 1 month and then next month I'll be leaving with my husband to some other country, leaving everything behind. Thinking so much was giving me scare, so I went down and sat in our Park for some time, to cool myself down.

Just then I felt someone sitting beside me and I am welcomed by my mother's arms. I hugged her tightly and she asked me, "What is bothering you Mahi?"

"Mumma, today I talked to ruhan, he told me we have to move to USA one month after our marriage because his new mission is assigned there, I'm really scared maa, all this is very  new for me", I told her.

"Its fine beta. I know my daughter is very strong and you won't be alone there ruhan will be there to help you. You'll be able to adjust. Just trust the timing of your life and believe whatever is happening is for your good and we are just one flight away, we will videocall and come to meet you if you feel homesick. So don't worry and embrace this new change and focus on building your new life together with Ruhan", she said.

Talking to her calmed me down and I found some relief and decided to embrace my new life with enthusiasm.
