We returned around 3 am in the morning and directly went to sleep, as the day was pretty hectic for both of us. I woke up around 6am, needed to go drink water, when I turned around, ruhan was not in bed. I moved down to get some water, only to found noise coming out of training room. I silently walked and opened the door to found my handsome husband punching the punching Bag, all focused, covered in sweat.

"So this is what you do early in morning? " I asked him. He turned around to look at me, smiled at me and answered.

"Need to work on my body, or the girls won't find me attractive anymore"  he replied and I give him the 'look'.

"Just kidding love, I just feel charged up, ready for the day after my morning routine and I love boxing. " he said.

" Firstly the bike, and now boxing and stuff, my husband is quite a bad boy", I said teasing him.

"The bad boy at your service ma'am ", he replied winking at me.

" Hey ruhan, can you teach me to pack a punch, I have always wanted to learn to fight. Just in case I need it some day. ", I asked him,giving my puppy dog eyes.

" Wifey whenever that situation arise you call me and I'll do the work. Don't worry " he replied.

" Ruhan don't be a chauvinist,teach me na. You can't be present everywhere. And we don't know how much time it will take for you to reach there.",I told him.

"You are right wifey. I agree with you. I'm giving you 15 min just return fast in a sporty look" he said.

"Aye Aye captain" I saluted him and run back up to get changed.

My sleep is long gone, instead it is replaced by excitement of learning something new. I returned back after 15 min. Only to found ruhan looking at me and telling me that I'm 1 min late.

"Sorry sir. " I replied and later showed him my tongue.
" Little kid" I heard him whisper.

"You said something Mr? " I asked. He pulled his hands up and shook his head in no.
Later we started our training and ruhan turned into a real trainer.

" Listen wifey,how your whole body should be placed when punching:-
FEET
They are spread on the ground a little wider than shoulder width.

The back foot always starts with the heel lifted.

When punching, the feet will pivot in the direction of the punch.

As you throw multiple punches, your feet will pivot back and forth pushing in different directions as you throw different punches.

When you throw a right handed punch, the right heel is lifted while the left foot is flat; the opposite is true when you throw a punch from the left hand.

Your feet never leave the ground when you throw a power punch. (This rule can be broken LATER once you learn how to throwing pivoting punches.)

LEGS

Knees are always slightly bent.

As you punch, you drop your bodyweight into your legs bending the knees slightly.

HIPS

Turn your hips. Spin them into your opponent as if you were punching your opponents with your hips.

UPPER BODY

Your torso should rotate as much as possible and spin the punch out from your shoulders.

A full rotation with short arm extension hits harder than a small rotation with full arm extension.

Don’t lean forward. Don’t try to reach forward, rotate instead!

SHOULDERS

Your shoulders are stay loose during the punch to keep the punches relaxed and save energy while increase speed and power.

Try to raise your shoulders during your punch. This makes the punch stronger since it’s now involving the shoulder muscles.

ARMS

Your arms start relaxed.

As the punch is thrown, your arms spring out towards your opponent extending just enough to hit your opponent.

Don’t let your punches over-extend or else you’ll get countered.

Do not pull your fist back right before a punch. This is called, “telegraphing” and allows experienced fighters see the punch coming, minimizing its impact.

HANDS

Your hands are relaxed when you are not punching. You can make a loose fist but don’t clench it.

When you punch, that fist transforms into a brick as your deliver it to your opponent.

Your glove starts at your face and ends at your face.

Your turn your fist over (horizontal) for straight punches, but your fist can stay vertical when you swing a left hook to the body or throwing pivot left hooks.

HEAD

Exhale sharply on every punch.

Your eyes are 100% alert. Always look at the target you’re punching.

Your chin is tucked down a little so that it’s covered a bit by the shoulder on your punching arm.

I was looking at him the whole time, trying to act like a obedient student. Trying to make my body as per his instructions but failing terribly. Then he came towards me and start making my hands, shoulders, trunk, hip according to the his instructions, touching me and putting me in correct Posture but his touching me here and there is not helping me at all. When he came behind me and whispered "punch wifey"  I punched but missed my target. And he start to laugh.

"why are you laughing ruhan it was my first time. You wait I'll punch your face in" and start  running after him. And finally caught him and tried to punch him but he caught my wrist and pushed me in a wall holding my hands up.

"This is not how you deal with your opponent wifey" he said with his face nearly inches from mine. He start to come forward but I kneed him, where it hurts the most and he fall down. Then I get down and whispered in his ear.

"And you never take your opponent as weak and loose your focus for a minute " laughing at him. But he keep on giving me pained expression. Looks like I hit him hard. I give him my hand to help him. Instead he pulled me down with him and get over me, holding my hands up. And whispered in my ear,"Never let your emotions overpower your intelligence when you are fighting "

" Ok hubby. I accept my defeat, let's get up" I told him but he didn't move away from me, instead moved down and kissed me.

"I should get my winning reward atleast " he said and loosen his grip on my hands and get up.

" You wait Mr. I will give you a reward" and I chase after him with my boxing gloves and this is how good part of our morning was spent. But at least today I have learned to punch. Thanks to my incredibly talented hubby.
