Ellie's Adventure 2 // Ellie x Female Reader// The Last Of Us

Are you insane?

My eyes flicker open. I'm swung over a horse, my horse. My feet are dangling down. I lift my head slowly. There is another horse next to me. Dina on top. My wrists are tied together with rope. I look to the front, there's a guy pulling at the reins to make Gaia walk. I start fumbling with the ropes, making sure no one sees me. They loosen and I'm able to pull my hands out. The rope makes a small dompf as it drops. It leaves a weird mark in the snow. I look at Dina. She's still unconscious. I can't leave her, but either we both die soon or we have a shot at living. "Sorry." I murmur.

I throw myself of Gaia. My ankle snaps and I cry out. The guy looks at me, instantly alarming everyone. I hold my ankle for a second, then run away. I can't go as quick as normal. With my injured ankle and the thick layer of snow my speed has decreased, a lot. I stumble past trees and bushes. I look behind me, no one is following me. I slow down. Maybe I actually made it out. There's the sound of a foot hitting the ground behind me. "No!" Someone calls out and then everything goes black.

"Are you insane?" I cry out as I slide through the cold snow, lifting Ellie's head off the ground. Her head is slightly bleeding and causes the blood to paint the snow red. I reach for my backpack and pull it towards me. I zip it open and pull out a piece of cloth, carefully pressing it against her head. "Come on, Y/N, how is it my fault?" Jordan asks generally surprised. "She ran away." He kneels down beside me and moves aside some of her hair. It's shorter then it used to be. I stand and pull her up, Jordan taking her other arm. "And since when do we even capture people?" Together we carry her to her horse. I hand her over to Sam, Jordan's girlfriend, and hoist myself on the horse. "I don't know. Sarah's orders." Together, we pull and lift Ellie on the horse, sitting her down in front of me. As I take the reins I notice a white mark at the root of the manes. The same as... Gaia. I smile. "Long time no see," I say as I pat her neck. I wrap my arms around Ellie's familiar body and spur Gaia. 

As we're making our way back home I look to my right, where Sam is riding on Arthur. She's holding the reins of the white horse carrying the other unconscious girl. "Why did Sarah make you do this?" I sniff. As I breathe out through my mouth, a small cloud escapes. "I don't know. She told me she was on patrol when she saw them riding past the old church." I look at her confused. "So what?  We cross paths with others and we just let them pass." We cross a deserted road. "I honestly don't know. Maybe she just wanted to have some fun? You know how she is." We ride onto a gravel road. It leads to a big farm in the middle of plains. It's not fenced like Ellie's home but it's safe. We're working on one but our group is too small to do it quickly. We're with eight.  Me, Sam, Jordan, Sarah, Leo, Kendric, Lara and Morgan. We all sleep in the farmhouse. Boys in the attic, girls on the first floor. But usually we all sleep on the same floor. We, as in the girls, got the biggest space in the farmhouse since we're with more. We keep the horses and some cows in the stables just a few yards from the house. Because of the emptiness around us, it's easy to see the infected when they get to close. We usually just try to one-shot them from the attic. 

We ride our horses into the stables. When Gaia is safe inside, I let myself down from her. With some help from Sam, we make sure Ellie doesn't fall off. Jordan and I carry her to the farmhouse, where we lay her on the couch. I pull in a chair from the dining table and put it next to the couch. I lift the cloth that stuck to her head to see that the bleeding has stopped. "Jordan, can you go get a new cloth and some cleansing alcohol?" He nods and hurries away. 

I hold her hand. It's cold. I look up when the door opens. Leo is standing in the doorway. I get up and hug him hard. "Thank you for warning me." I say as I pull back. He smiles and sighs. "When she said we had to go out after two girls, I had to ask what they looked like. And she basically described her." He says as he points at Ellie. He sits down on my chair. "Soooo, this is Ellie?" He says teasingly. I snort and sit on the side of the chair, almost pushing him off. "Yes." I look at her face. It's just as beautiful as I remember. I get a flashback of how I left her there, in the middle of the woods. I tear up. "Hey, are you ok?" Leo asks as he takes my hand. I shake my head. "I left her there, I left her as if she meant nothing to me." I slump down on the chair, leaning my head against Leo's chest. He wraps his arms around me. "Where did you leave her?" He lays his hand on my head en kisses the top. "In the woods, after we found each other. I left her there and never came back." Ellie shifts. She opens her eyes and looks straight at us. "Y/N?" She says.
