Mom and I have been shopping for the last four hours in Beverly Hills Centre Mall. Dad didn't come with us; he was going to School to meet some of the teachers and look around the school for the first time. Mom got me new dresses, shorts, and Jumpsuits, she even got herself some new outfits. The Mall was so big, I was thankful I had my wheelchair with me. We stopped by a coffee shop near the mall when we were done, while we were waiting for Dad to pick us up. We sat outside as it was extremely hot out today, I wish I had put a light dress on instead of jeans. The scenery from outside was beautiful from our table. I know I didn't want to move here, but it is a pretty place to be, but I still wish I were back home back with my friends.
"What would you like sweetie, everything looks so nice?" Mom asks me as her eyes lit up looking over the menu.
"Just a water please, Mom," I answered her.
Mom took her bag up onto her lap, to take out her purse to have ready, I guessed. "Oh no I've no cash, only my card. Will you be alright if I go to the ATM machine next door?" she asks already I am getting up from the table. "Sure," I say nodding my head
"Why don't I order our drinks while you're gone?"
"If you want honey." My Mom agreed with me but then I think to myself what if they don't know what I'm saying? "But Mom what if the waiter can't understand me?"
My Mom picked up the menu off the table and she pointed to the drink she wanted me to order. "Here, just show the waiter the menu, and then point out what we want. I will have some iced tea and then whatever you want, ok." She gave the menu to me to have a look over it. Nothing on it was calling out to me, Just a glass of orange juice with ice. "Will you be ok?" Mom asks me. "Yeah, I'll be fine." But in the back of my mind, I was still nervous. I hated talking to people that weren't familiar with my speech.
"Won't be long," she said as she left. I watched the people enjoying their day, Cars going by, people going by with shopping bags taking up their length of arms, and families looking like their day couldn't get any better while letting the sun hit my face waiting for my Mom. There weren't any waiters outside right now. So, I took the book I was reading that was beside me in my chair to read while waiting. A couple of moments later I heard the door from the front of the coffee shop open.
I see a guy in a black top with a silver crossed chine hanging around his neck. He had light blue jeans with a black cap hanging out of the hook of his jeans. His hair was light brown like chocolate with a clean cut. He had a strong jawline that a girl would go weak at the knees when she sees it on a guy. The corner of his mouth lifts turning into a cheeky grin, while looking at his phone in his hand making his purling white teeth peeking out. One dimple appears on his right cheek against his golden skin.
When I saw him at the door, I got a funny feeling in my stomach, and I couldn't take my eyes off him. It was like I was mesmerized by him, which was unlike me.
He held the door open for an elderly couple. I couldn't help but let a little laugh out, that was cute. But he didn't walk to the exit right away; he was walking over to the table that I was sitting at. I tried to look away as he walked toward the table, but panic soon traveled through me. I looked back down onto the page that I'd been stuck on since I took my book out, as I was trying not to take notice of him.
"Can I have some of your milk please?." A husky deep voice filled my ears, giving me a buzz. What is going on with me?
I'd lifted my eyes to see a guy that couldn't be more than 18. He takes the jug filled with milk off the table putting some in his takeaway cup, even though I still haven't said yes. I was speechless by him. Also, I didn't want to speak, then he could hear how different my voice was from everyone else's, so I just nodded my head. He was wearing a pair of black Ray ban sunglasses, so I couldn't see his eyes. I wish I could have seen what color his eyes were. "Thank you," he said as he left. Even when he left, I couldn't take my eyes away from him, I kept my eyes on him until he got onto the other side of the road. He got on a black motorcycle. As he was sitting on the motorcycle balancing it on his two feet on each side, he put a black helmet on his head.
Just before he started the motorcycle, he looked over in my direction, I didn't know if he was looking at me or something else because he was too far away, also I couldn't really see his face. He pushed the helmet down over his head, then he started his motorcycle engine then off he went like he was never here.
"Sorry I wasn't long, was I?"
I forgot I was waiting for my Mom; I haven't even ordered our drinks yet. I was too dazed about some guy that I'd have never seen before in my life or will I ever see him again. "The waiter hasn't come over yet" I lied, putting a smile on my face. The waiter came over shortly after. "May I take your order?" "Yes please," my Mom ordered after all. We sat back waiting for our drinks enjoying the sun, just like everyone else here. Then my Mom's phone started to ring. "It's your Dad." While my Mom was on the phone with my Dad telling him about our day, I was still thinking about the guy on the black motorcycle.
