Chapter Seven

Age 5

It was Richie's, Eddie's, Bill's, Stan's and Bev's first day at school.

Eddie's mom was chatting to teacher, "You need to understand Mrs. Duncan, he's a fragile boy. He's got weak lungs. He can't do much..."

Eddie was excited and nervous for his first day.

"Hi, my name's Richie," a little boy with his front teeth missing and thick glasses went up to Eddie.

"Hi," Eddie smiled, "I'm Eddie.

"Nice to meet you Eds," Richie said.

"Hey, don't call me that," Eddie said.

"Nope sorry, you're my friend now it's my job annoy you," Richie replied.

Age 14

All seven of the losers stumbled into the barrens.

"Hey, Bev," Richie asked, "got any cigarettes?"

"Yeah," Bev said, "here you go."

They walked down to where there clubhouse was. They all scurried inside.

"I call dibs on the hammock," Richie yelled out as he grabbed a comic book and jumped into the hammock.

"You're going to hurt yourself if you keep doing that," Eddie said to Richie.

"Yeah but it's funner to just jump," Richie argued.

"Your argument is invalid," Stan said, "funner isn't a word."

"Come on, Stan the Man be on my side for once," Richie said. Stan just gave Richie an evil eye.

"Ha," Eddie snickered.

Mike was just standing there looking at the scene in front of him and then turned to Ben, "Richie and Eddie argue like they are a married couple."

"True that," Ben said.

Fifteen minutes passed by.

"Richie!" Eddie exclaimed, "your fifteen minutes are up."

"Psssh," Richie said and kept reading his comic book.

"Well if you're going to do that," Eddie hopped into the hammock as well. The two boys managed to fit.

Richie laid his hand on Eddie's leg and read his comic book trying to keep his mind off the fact that his heart was going a mile a minute because the love of his life was lying so close to him and it wasn't even planned like Richie usually had to do.

Eddie didn't like how Richie was paying the comic book more attention that himself so he took his foot and started hitting Richie's head.

Richie nudged Eddie's foot away and kept reading.

Eddie decided to take it a step farther and knocked Eddie's glasses off.

Eddie's thoughts with Richie's glasses off immediately were, "Damn, somehow he's even hotter."

Richie thoughts immediately were, "I'm so much in love with him."

Richie thought back to the moment he knew he was in love with Eddie and back to the time he realized he was gay.

Age 10

Richie knew he was in love with Eddie. He was 100% certain of it now. His chest fluttered whenever Eddie was near him. He would blush the slightest whenever he thought of Eddie.
