when i woke up the room was empty. sunlight poured through the curtains. I sat up out of bed and stretched my soar muscles.
I grabbed my phone and began scrolling through my feed.

after stalling long enough i knew it was time. i got out of bed and began to get ready. I hopped
into the shower and made sure to remove all the mascara around my irritated eyes. When i came out of the shower i realized none of my stuff was in this room. It was still in the room i had been sharing with Chase. I knew i didn't have a choice.
I walked out the hotel room and down the hall in nothing besides a towel, a pair of white slip on vans, and my hotel key in hand.
When i arrived at the hotel room, my hand was shaking to much to even unlock the door. I took a couple deep breaths and then slowly opened up the door, preparing myself for what might be waiting for me on the other side.

I pushed open the door and immediately saw his tear filled eyes resting on me. I tried my best to ignore him. My heart was beating so loudly I felt like it was echo in the hotel room. As i began to look for my suitcase I heard Chase lift himself off the bed and began to walk towards me.
my breath hitched. I froze in place when i heard his gentle and raspy voice.
"kenzie, please look at me"
I knew i couldn't look at him without wanting to take all of his pain away, and jump back into his arms. i couldn't allow myself to do that. I stayed where i was. facing away from him.

Chase whispered, "Kenzie, please i can't," he stuttered, "i can't do this. I can't know i'm the reason you're hurting, please."

i reassured myself and then slowly turned around to face him. This was the first good look i was getting at him since i left yesterday.
His hair was unbrushed, his eyes had huge bags surrounding them and were red from crying . He was wearing the same clothes from yesterday and his shirt was stained with tears.

I wanted nothing more than to be able to forgot about it all, and let my heart take the lead. But I stayed there only a few feet apart, but worlds away.

"Kenzie i'm so sorry, i know what i did was messed up" Chase began, "You mean everything to me."

Chase stood there waiting for me to respond.
finally, words started to pour out.
"Chase i know you didn't mean to hurt me but at the end of the day you did. And the worst part is, i don't hate you for hurting me, i hate myself for letting you."
Chase started at me and saw the pain in my eyes. He was speechless, so i decided to do the talking.
"After everything I've been through from my dad passing, and then all the shit James put me through i should have known better than to love someone else."
I instantly regretted what i had said.
Chase however, seemed to come back to life.
He spoke immediately, "Kenzie, I love you."
My heart fluttered, my stomach was doing flips and a smile spread across my face.
Chase saw my reaction and continued to talk, "Kenzie, i fucked up, i know i did. But i'm not me without you."
I cut him off by pressing my lips against his. It was soft and loving. After i looked into his eyes and couldn't help but let out a giggle.
"Really? you're laughing right now?" chase said smiling
"yeah, you know what ...i am. Here we are. Me in nothing but a towel, and you in yesterday's clothes, but i couldn't be happier. I do however need to find some clothes." i said as i turned back around and began to go through my suitcase.
Chase walked over and sat down on the bed, staring at me. I grabbed a pair of leggings and a cropped sweatshirt, and then walked into the bathroom to change. When i walked back out his eyes were still on me.
"What you looking at hudson?" I said trying to sound intimidating
Chase patted the space next to him in the bed, signaling for me to come sit next to him. I walked over and sat down. He then took my hand and held it against his chest. I could feel his heart beating.
"Kenzie, this is how you make me feel" he said. then he took my hand and pressed it against his lips leaving a soft kiss. "Mackenzie Matthews, i don't ever want to lose you again." he took a breath, "Kenzie, you're my forever, i know that now. Please let me call you mine."

I suddenly felt like my whole body went numb, all the pain from yesterday disappeared.
The only thing that mattered in this moment, was him.
