After their heated session  in the kitchen, Wynter had gone to take a nap since resting was the quickest way for her to heal. She woke up to feeling Alastor touching her arm where her runes were and she jolted awake and startled him. She had completely forgotten that they were now exposed and he could now see them fully. He gave her a curious look and smiled at here.

"What are those markings on your arm darling? I've never seen anything like them before. They have a strange energy to them as well." He asked cocking his head slightly at her.

She blinked at him and tended feeling Hati growl inside her mind.

"I told you to be careful, and you didn't listen to me. Now he knows." Hati snarled at her in anger.

Wynter looked up at Alastor trying to come up with an excuse, but she knew he would catch her lying. She can't it any longer from him. She closed her eyes and sighed in defeat as she rolled her sleeves up completely to reveal the set of runes that lined down both her arms. They flowed a faint lavender color as she frowned feeling the energy from them coursing through her body.

"These are runes from the Old Norse mythology. My family is Norwegian and in life I had an interest in in it, but I didn't think that when I died I could harness their power and use it. It's an ancient power and very few can understand what they mean." She explained looking up at him.

Alastor looked intrigued as he examined the runes watching as they glowed slightly.

"Runes? I've heard of them, but I never understood them myself. What kind of power do they give you?" He asked as he reached over and lightly traced his finger across one of the runes on her arm.

Wynter shivered a little at his touch since they were sensitive. She felt Hati grow irritated at Alastor touching them and snarled. Her green eyes flashed a little and she closed them cursing at him in her mind.

"Hati your going to expose yourself to him if you don't calm down. Then we'll both be in trouble." She said to Hati in her mind.

"Something wrong darling?" Alastor asked interrupting her thoughts.

Wynter looked up at him and shook her head as she smiled trying to not seem suspicious. Hati has gone silent but she could still feel him in the back of her mind pacing around.

"No, the runes are just sensitive that's all." She answered.

Alastor lowered a brow at her and hummed as he took his hand back from her arm.

"To answer your question though about the runes, they just help aid me in fights. They kind of give me a boost in power and accurate with my attacks." She said.

Wynter didn't want to reveal too much about the runes since she didn't know what his intentions would be if he found out their true power. Hati had a connection to the runes and her and she wanted to keep that a secret. If anyone knew what she was really capable of she knew that their reactions wouldn't be positive.

"Interesting, are you sure they don't do anything else?" Alastor asked curiously.

She frowned feeling Hati become more agitated by his probing and she shushed him as he started growling again.

"Yes." Wynter answered.

Alastor closed his eyes and chuckled before looking up at her as he grinned wider. The look in his eyes made her tense and made her slightly nervous, but she made sure not to show that.

"Your sure your not hiding anything from me, are you?" He asked in a low serious tone as he leaned closer to her.

"Of course I'm not hiding anything, why would I lie to you?" She exclaimed frowning at him.

He examined her expression looking for any sign of emotion that would betray what she told him and then sighed as he leaned back, his expression becoming softer.

"Good. If you are hiding something though, I'll be sure to find it out sooner or later. I don't take kindly to people who lie and hide things from me." He explained to her.

Wynter couldn't help feeling nervous from his warning but she hid it by giving him a reassuring smile. Hati though was not happy and felt threatened by his warning.

"Don't worry, I wouldn't hide anything from you Al." She reassured him.

Alastor gave her an amused smile hearing her nickname for him and tilted his head at her.

"Al? Are you giving me a nickname now?" He chuckled.

"Well, seeing as how you like to call me darling, sweetheart, and dear, I decided to give you a nickname of your own. Unless you don't like it and want to be called something else." She said smiling at him.

"I call every woman dear, it's a part of being a gentleman." He said.

Wynter snickered as she poked him on his chest.

"Sure it is. Although I get special treatment since I'm special right?" She teased.

"You could say that if you like, if it makes you feel special that is." He said teasing her back.

Wynter pouted at him and he chuckled at her reaction. They continued to chat for a while before he left to allow her to get some more rest. She laid there on his bed pulling the sheets over her more closing her eyes. His scent was calming as she smelled his sheets and felt her body relax. Hati growled in disapproval as he started pacing again.

"Hati, he's not going to find out so stop worrying." She said in her mind to him.

"He found out about the runes thanks to your carelessness and now he's one step closer to finding about their true power and me. I warned you before about this happening and you didn't listen to me. Your starting to fall in love with him for hells sake! You don't know what he's capable of or what his true intentions are with you!" Hati snarled at her baring his teeth.

Wynter opened her yes as they shined a bright green and growled getting frustrated with him.

"Your overreacting Hati! Now stop getting belligerent with me and let me rest! I'll be more careful so calm down and stop lecturing me already will you?"

Hati snarled at her but didn't say anything as he fell silent. Wynter closed her eyes and huffed as she tried to get some rest. She understood Hati was only trying to protect her but he was overreacting. Alastor didn't seem to have any ill intentions to her so far, but she knew she wasn't the only one keeping secrets. Eventually, the truth will come out and she will come to realize who and what Alastor really was, and it wasn't going to end very well.
