Emilie's POV
Its finally Friday. I can't wait. The past two days I've been busy with school. I didn't go to the lake at all, I just spent the rest of the day with Austin, to my luck and disappointment mom is on a business trip for a whole week. I am still mad, I mean so what if Austin is gay, who cares? I shake my head before turning on the shower.
I decided to wear a black hoodie, with matching black jeans. I do my hair in two French braids, letting some strands hang loose. I grab my bag and head downstairs. I usually sip breakfast or sometimes go to Starbucks, for today though I guess I will be skipping breakfast.
I open the front door to head to my car, but I am surprised to see a BMW in front of my house. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. A figure gets out of the car. The first thing I see was blonde hair. When the figure turns to look at my house, I was met with blue eyes. Austin. Why is Austin here?
I smile and head toward him, "hey" I say happily. Austin smiles, before giving me a quick side-hug "hey, good morning. I was wondering if I could drive you to school?" he questions. I smile "yeah, of course"
I enter the car, and Austin starts driving. "you know you still have half an hour before class starts" Austin informs me. I nod "yea, I ended up waking up before my alarm" I say. Austin chuckles "guess I am not the only one who does that" I am surprised to hear that both, Austin and I have that in common.
We stay silent for a moment, Austin hesitates before asking the next question "is, is mom home?" I can hear hurt in his voice. I frown, "no, she's on a business trip"
Austin sighs "you know what's weird?" he glances at me for a second before turning his attention back to the road. I shake my head "what?" I ask. "that mom still sends me money, I mean after I moved, she sends money, I thought at first it was just because I am still young, but then when I reached twenty-one, she still keeps sending money, until now" he continues. I stare at him shocked, but then I got it "maybe she didn't want you to move Austin, maybe Dad did" I say slowly, because the last time I checked I don't think mom has a problem with people's sexuality.
Austin has a blank expression first, but then his eyes go wide. "Austin, are you okay?" I ask, concerned. "I, I think your right" his voice break. Austin stops the car. I look out the window. We are at a diner. I turn to Austin with a question look on my face, which he answers "I thought we would have breakfast together? I mean you didn't eat breakfast, right?" he says. I nod "yea, alright" I say and hop out of the car, Austin doing the same.
We sit in a booth, Austin across me. The diner is a simple yet nice place. The walls are a creamy color, while the booth's chairs are a nice color of red with a white table between two chairs.
"Austin, what do you mean you think I'm right?" I ask slowly, referring to our conversation in our car. He looks at me for a while before answering "when I told mom and dad about the gay thing, dad immediately started yelling at me saying, I'm such a disappointment and so on, mom stayed quite so I thought she agreed with dad, I ignored dad and went to one of my friend's house, when I came back that night I found my stuff in the living room, dad standing there and telling me to 'get the fuck out' I was shocked to say at least, I mean that's the first time I saw dad acting that way, so I told him that I will. I stayed at one of my friend's house for a couple of days, when I woke up the next day, Nick, my friend that I've been staying with gave me an envelope, when I checked what's in it, it had a lot of cash in it, with a simple word. Which was, mom. So, I knew it was mom" he finishes tugging at his hair, almost painfully.
"God, how could dad do this" I say angrily, he just kicked his own son out of his house without even a place to stay in.
