My Hope

Chapter 13

Aiden's POV

I get in the car, Jessica next to me. We drive in silent, no one speaking a word.

"Aiden" my sister, Jessica calls my name next to me. I turn to her "yea?"

"can I play with your phone until we reach Chase's house" Jessica asks. I nod at her, getting my phone out of my pocket.

"here" I hand her my phone. "thanks" she thanks me.

I look out of the window; the streets lights pass like a blur do to our speed.

My mom parks the car and we all get out.

Today is one of those days where mom, Amber, and Niki have dinner, and of course they bring us with them; Chase, Mason, Jessica, and me.

Today though, my mother told me that Niki invited one of her old friends. Guess mom is going to have a new friend.

My mom rings the bell, seconds later Niki comes to view.

She's wearing a light pink dress that reaches under her knees, her is tied up in a ponytail. Mom is wearing a dark blue dress that her ankles her hair open.

Niki hugs mom, then me. She welcomes us in. I enter the living room to find Mason already there. Usually the mothers have a separate living room then us.

Chase and Mason are siting there, talking. Jessica walks next to me to the living room, while mom goes with Niki.

When Chase sees us, he smiles and open his arms for Jessica to hug. Chase has the ability to make any one laugh or smile, he's also very good with kids really.

Jessica smiles running to Chase hugging him. She giggles when he lifts her up.

I sit down next to Mason. He looks at me

"guess who I ran into today?!" he exclaims.

I shrug "who?" I ask

"Emilie." He says. That definitely wasn't what I expected

"Emilie" I echo. I furrow my eyebrows "how did you run into her?" I question.

"we live in the same neighborhood and I had no idea. I was just walking around when I saw her" he explains.

"who are you guys talking about" Chase asks, sitting next to me. I look to find Jessica sitting on a separate couch playing on my phone.

"apparently Mason ran into Emilie today" I say. Chase looks surprised, "since when you and Emilie are friends?' Chase asks.

Mason shrugs "we only talked today"

"speaking of Emilie" Chase says, we look at him "you know my mom's friend who's coming today" we nod at him

"it's Emilie's Mom" Chase says. Mason and I look at each other with shocked expressions. Suddenly, the doorbell rings. And I'm guessing its Emilie's mom.

"wait, is Emilie coming ?" I ask. Chase nods at me.

Niki comes, heading to the door followed by Amber and my mother. Niki open the door, smiling.

"hey Lucy, I'm glad you could make it!" Niki says. Mason, Chase and I all stand up.

We see Niki hugging someone. The women pull back and I get a clear view of her.

She has light blonde hair that reaches until her shoulders. She smiles at Niki. Is this Emilie's mother? They don't look alike though.

"oh Emilie, hey, how are you?" Niki says hugging Emilie, so I can't really see how she looks like.
