Dinah’s POV

I am happy it is all done. We are here in the gathering for victory, but then worry is still holding me captive. I can’t help but to scan every corner, trying to make sure no one looks suspicious, especially around the royalties. Camila however is only a foot away from me as she socializes with her friends. She keeps giving me glances and smiles and I return it with pure adoration. I kept on looking, my mind is tensed when all the sudden someone stood beside me and whispered.

“Relax.” The voice said. I jumped and looked at whoever it was. Relief flooded through me and released the breath I didn’t know I was holding.

 “Lauren!” I scolded.

 “What?” She said.

“Don’t ever scare me like that ever again.” I demanded and looked towards Camila, I panicked when I didn’t see her and her friends where they were standing a while ago.

“She’s by the buffet.” Lauren said and I looked, thankful that she is safe.

“What are you worrying about?” Lauren asked and took a sip from her cup.

 “I don’t know,” I trailed of “nothing.”

 “Are you sure?”

 “Hundred percent.”

“You don’t seem convincing.” Lauren said “Are you even trying.” She teased.

 “I am serious.”

“Then why is your eyes looked so weary and alert? Why do you keep on scanning the surroundings? I mean seriously does a normal person do that?”

“I’m just worried ok.” I said finally telling someone what I am feeling “What if there’s a hidden civilization that Albert kept from me or should I say Margaux?”

“If there is any, they should’ve attacked by now. They should’ve helped Albert and the rest of you escape when you sent them down the dungeon.” Lauren said.

“No…. Of course they won’t” I said, that made Lauren’s face softened.

 “See?” She asked.

“They won’t be attacking now because they know we are loaded with armies. They know there are too many people for them to act out the escape.” I said.

“But then won’t be this perfect plan to escape? I mean there is a gathering or a celebration. They are paying no attention to the people inside the dungeon.”

“We are celebrating because we won against Albert.” I said “Albert is still fresh in everyone’s eyes, so if he decided to do this escape it will be when there is another crisis going on.”

“But-“Lauren tried to argue, her face is tinted red, perhaps from frustration.

“No, Lauren.” I said “You don’t know how Albert thinks. I do.” Lauren looked at me with wide eyes, her expression is mixed. Shocked and offended. Though I don’t quite understand why.

“You think, I don’t know how he thinks?” She said slowly, her eyes squinting a bit trying to analyze me. “I spent almost a year listening to his plans, about this. I struggled to do everything he told me to. And you are telling me I don’t know how he thinks?” She finally said. I shake my head slowly and chuckled. I then looked at her features once again. Her eyes are fierce, her nose is scrunched up.

“You were listening to him Lauren. You follow what he says. He tells you what to do, he never told you what he thinks.” I said. “There’s a difference. He tells you the plan but did he ever tell you what he thinks about it? He tells you for you to act it out. You were his pawn, Lauren.”
