Chapter 20

Narrator's POV

Camila shakily held the necklace higher. Afraid to show that Dinah might see her as a weakling.

'But that's too late isn't it?' Camila thought 'she already saw me vulnerable, she seen me cry and most importantly she saw me crumbling just now.'

It was then that Camila let her fury out. As she was about to scream at Dinah. Artemis walked in the room panting.

"Dinah! Your gift for Camila was under the Pi-" Artemis said and cut herself mid sentence and covered her mouth. She then gave Dinah the sorry look but looked at Camila.

"Ooohhh!" Artemis squealed happily. "She already give it to you?" She asked. Although she really is laughing to see Camila's teary eyes. Artemis wanted to tell her 'boo-hoo suck it up you little crap!' But she can't she has to play by the plan, though the necklace was never the plan. She just thought of a good excuse and improvise everything on the spot.

"Wh-what do you mean?" Camila asked. Her tone is still shaky but firm.

"That necklace you're holding." Artemis said and sat beside Camila.

"Dinah asked me to buy you one, the same one as mine, a round red ruby." Artemis said and smiled at the necklace and to Camila.

Camila is confuse as ever, she don't know how to react, if she is just being played or what? Camila looked at Dinah and Dinah as good actress that she is showed a 'dang it' look. Guilt is plastered shamelessly on Dinah face and Camila is wondering if it's guilt about something else or its about the necklace. Dinah's silence is killing Camila, she needs her to speak, she wanted to know.

And finally she did "A.T." Dinah simply said looking at the necklace and to Camila's eyes.

"A-" Camila said but was rudely interrupted again. She sighed and kept it cool for now, giving her lover the chance to speak, the chance to clear everything to her.

"I was planning on giving you that for our honeymoon." Dinah said shyly, scratching the back of her neck and shifting on where she's standing.

"Dinah! You'll ruin the surprise! But go on! I must witness this since I won't be witnessing it after the wedding." Artemis nudges Camila and wiggled her eyebrows.

Camila don't know if she's the only one hurt about this, She's vulnerable and can't they see that? Or maybe she's just paranoid that she assumes for the negative and forget about the positives.

"What wedding?" Camila asked.

"Art!" Dinah cursed.

"What? I thought she knew!" Artemis played the innocent card and so did Dinah, both are thinking the same thing, to let Camila know that it's all about her. Though, as Artemis hates it she has to give the necklace to Camila for now.

"Ok, so, Camila." Dinah said. walking closer to the bed until she's sitting at the edge of it. Sighing she looked deeply into Camila's vulnerable eyes.

"Now that you found the necklace that I'm supposed to give you in our honeymoon, you might as well, know what A.T. Means." Dinah said.

"It's an island near our kingdom back home. It's an island that is rightfully set for mine and mine only. It's what I usually call my sanctuary place..." Dinah said and trailed off. "I named it actually. and please don't judge." Dinah said and chuckled. The place is real but it wasn't hers, it was her brother's, who passed away in the war when she was 17 and he is 24.

"I won't." Camila then said lowering the necklace on her lap, softening her gaze on Dinah.

"I named it after my brother." Dinah said, even though it's really not her sanctuary place, it's a place where her family will go to remember her brother. "Who passed away in a war, His name is Aquel Trent (pronounced as Ak-u-el) the greatest big bro of all time." Dinah said.

"That island was our sanctuary place, no one come there to spend a day or two but just the two of us, but now that he passed away it's now mine, I didn't let others step a foot in that island because I don't want them to corrupt the memory of my brother and I." Dinah explained, forgetting about Artemis in the room, since this is about Camila, and she's open heartedly opening up to Camila.

"The red ruby symbolizes my whole love... So, surprise?" Dinah asked. Though, all she said was true, she loves Camila but in the eyes of Artemis this was all an act.

Camila's face softened and she looked down at the necklace. As much as Artemis hates it she has to fangirl.

"Awwweeee! My sister and my bestfriend! This is yet the cutest!" Artemis said.

Camila smiled faintly, she wanted to jump on Dinah and just thank her and tell her how sorry she is but Artemis is in the room.

"Artemis..." Camila started.

"Mhm?" Artemis asked innocently.

"Um... I love you but umm.. Can I talk to Dinah... Alone?" Camila shyly asked.

"Oh hahahaha. silly me!" Artemis said and hugged Camila. "Have fun." Artemis said, obviously teasing. Though, Dinah heard it in her tone that Artemis is very much disappointed.
