CHAPTER 10 - Shoot The Ball

SHOOT THE BALL

"So what was your auntie's reaction?" Emily asked excitedly "first she was curious about what im about to tell her, and i got nervous so i spill it right away" i said and she gasped.

"Did your auntie have a heart attack when you said it?" she said joking, i chuckled "no silly! she knows it already.." she gasped again "did she disown you?" her eyes widen as if it will pop out.

"Haha you're crazy em!" shes waiting for me to answer still gasping "what?! tell me!" i shook my head laughing "stop gasping or i will put a fly in your mouth" she closed her mouth and slap my shoulder gently, sternly.

"No she did not disown me, in fact she embraced and accepted me just like my mom did" i said proudly "awww! im so happy for you B!" she wraps her arms around me.

"Awww you guys look so cute!" grace approaches "hey me too! GROUP HUG!" Tom rush towards us and wide his arms "real cute tom!" emily said struggling between toms big arms with us.

"So what's going on?" grace asked "bailey told her auntie already" emily whispered and both McGuire gasped.

"OH.MY.GOD! You did?! Im so proud of you! come here!" Grace gave me a supporting hug.

"Congratulations bailey!" Tom added and gave me a high five "Okay enough of this already, lets get to class before Ms.Hale comes first.." i said giggled.

Emily and i sit together at class as usual "B, are you free after class?" she asked me suddenly "yeah..well Zack wants to take my schedule, he said he needs an extra money for his sister's birthday. Why?" i said flatly.

"Wanna hangout at the court later? Besides no one will be around there and there's no practice" she said "okay, sure" i said smiling and she nodded.

"Good morning class!" Ms.Hale greeted. While she discussed her lessons Jake threw a piece of paper at me, emily and i flinched glancing at him and he just wink in response, grinning.

After class i saw Jake walking towards us when maddison grab his hand and took him away outside, they even kissed passionately in front of everybody "gross!" my mind said.

I put my books and notes on my locker when emily pat me on my shoulder.

"B you go ahead first, i'll meet you at the court okay?" she said hastily "wait, where are you going?" i asked "i need to call my parents. I'll see you there" i nodded.

"She's right no ones around and seems so quiet, no basketball practice, no cheerleaders. This is great!" I said mentally and got excited.

When I saw a basketball balls on the ground, I went down from where I'm sitting and grab the ball. I dribble the ball and shoot it on the hoop, until for 3 minutes, I played alone for a moment.

When I shoot the ball from center circle "Yes!" I exclaimed "oh I missed basketball so much ugh!" I mumbled smiling but I flinched when someone is clapping at the door "Fudge!" I mumbled, my eyes widen in disbelief it's coach Kevin with Jake and Caleb with his crutches, they look shocked, jaw dropped.

I wonder how long they've been watching me.

"I've never seen someone played like that" coach Kevin said amazed while walking towards me. Jake and Caleb stares at him frowning.

"Well you two were great but she was something" coach Kevin pointing at me and massage his chin "Hi coach uhm I was about to leave..." I said trying to excuse myself out.

"That.was.f*cking amazing Bailey!" Caleb exclaimed "I agreed!" Jake added and he smiled, I'm speechless.

Coach kevin stared at me for a moment thinking "Coach you okay?" Jake asked "coach i think we already found another member of our team?" Caleb suggested.

"Oh no no please! I'm a girl that wouldn't be necessarily. I-i don't think--" Caleb Interrupt me "Who said?" They were staring at me "i got to go.. " and I run upstairs to the bleacher seats to get my bag when Emily and Grace was standing there crossed arms gazing at me intently.

"What?" I asked them "You play basketball?!" Grace said sternly "How come you didn't tell us about this?" Emily added "Well you guys didn't ask me?" I replied "you truly are full of suprises Bailey" Emily said chuckles.

Coach, Jake and Caleb is leaving while murmuring and took a last glanced at me.

"OMG I am sure they'll take you as a team Bailey, OMG!" Grace said excitedly "No i wont, and i dont wanted to" i said "why not?" Grace frown "obviously it's a great opportunity but it's dangerous grace.." Emily said She have a point "No its not, I think your the hope of this team b!" Grace argued Emily shook her head.

"Emily saying was, they were boys and strong. I couldn't fit in grace, I just can't" I said and she just pout her lips sadly "You're a guy right?" Grace added and I frowned "Seriously grace?" I chuckled, Emily suddenly burst out laugh and I throw a crumpled paper at her

"Come on Bailey, don't you wanna see us cheering for you when you play?" Grace is trying to convince me, I ignored her.

We spend our time at the court laughing and eating.

On our way home, grace still pushing me to join Tiger's team, emily seems to agree with it but she looks concerned. If ever ill join them I'm the only girl, what if they'll just kick my ass there and make fun of me :(

While at work i keep thinking about it. "Would they really need someone like me to be on their team?" My mind said and shook my head

"What are you thinking?" Ella snapped at me "Oh nothing" I said flatly "If theres somethings bothering you just tell me okay" Ella winked and went back to the counter to count the money on the registrar box.

"Ella" I called her "Yeah?" She replies "if someone ask you to join their team, what would you do?" She gave me a question look "What you mean? Could you be more specific?" She said, I sighed.

"I play basketball and yesterday I'm at school in the basketball court, no one was around so I played for a while but someone was already watching me and... they've noticed" I explained.

"Ohh and they wanted you to be on their team then?" Ella gasped "Well I don't know but they look like they wanted to?" I shrug

"Well its up to you, if you like it then go for it. I heard your school still no match to the Wilson High and it's kinda sad you know... " she said sadly "And you never know maybe you're their last hope?" She added smiling.

"Am I?" My mind said but an old man interrupt us sitting in front of the counter holding his coffee.

"i didn't mean to eavesdrop you ladies but you..." He pointed at me "Me?" I frowned.

"Yes you, there's something about you. Great opportunities and I think you need to grab that chance you've been talking about.. But beware on one of your lover or suitor, quiet dangerous I'll tell you.." He said and i got a goosebump when he told me that.

Ella and i shared a confused look and he suddenly left without saying goodbye "That man really scared the hell out of me bailey" she said sighing and i freezed.

"Don't tell me you believe him?" She asked "didn't you feel something when he said those things?" I asked "enough of that, let's just get back to work" and she did.

"Is this a warning or just a prediction?"
