-Third Person's Point of View-
-A few days later-
Natalia looks out the window with her knees pulled to her small frame, Grayson sat in the passenger side with Presley. Rick was driving, he glanced in the mirror looking back at the heartbroken girl as he pulled into his driveway.
He told them he'd be out in a few minutes and that he was. He was back within 10 minutes with a bag of clothes, he put it in the back and said, "We need to make one more stop." Grayson looked over, "Where?" He asked. Rick replied, " King County Sheriff's Department." Grayson agreed.
When they got to the police station, Rick told everyone to wait there as he went in. He came back and told everyone to come in, Grayson held Presley and gently nudged Natalia out of her daydreaming state of mind. She got up following them.
"The station's got its own propane system." Rick says as they all walk into the locker room he turns one of the showers on, looking over at Natalia as she's looking around the building. "There's no female locker room, but there are shower curtains." He says and Natalia nods, Grayson walked over handing Presely over to her. Grayson and Rick joke and laugh as they're taking a shower, Natalia was helping Presley.
Rick was dressed in his uniform, he took Grayson and Presley into the armory while Natalia was in the locker room still taking a shower.
-Natalia's Point Of View-
I slid down the wall sobbing, I was trying to keep it together. But it was hard since Presley was asking Grayson why I wasn't being myself. All I could think about was how she turned into one of those things, her eyes were milky and she let out small groans. I knew that wasn't my best friend anymore but I didn't want to let her go, it was too much to handle.
I finally got up after some time, finishing my shower I got out, putting on a gray dress that went just above my knee with a brown cardigan and some brown slip-on shoes. I also put on my small brown bag that had: Snacks for Presley, two water bottles and the gun that I got from my house.
I started to walk out of the locker room when I heard the bell ding from the front door. I stopped and looked across the hall, there was the armory I saw rick since the door was a cage material. "Rick!" I whisper loudly, he looks over and I point to the front of the police station, "there's someone in here."
He nodded and went into the hallway with his gun pointed in front of him, he yelled, "Whoever is in here, I'm giving you one warning." He walked to the entrance of the hall, I followed close behind and looked over his shoulder. There stood an African American man and a young boy that looked around twelve. The man had his hands raised and the boy was standing behind him, "Who are you and why are you here?" Rick said, his gun pointed towards him.
"I'm Morgan Jones, this is my son. Duane. We were just passing through, I wanted to get some guns and get out of here." The tall man said. Rick looked at me seeing what I was thinking about all of this as Grayson was standing in the doorway of the armory, we both nodded thinking it was a good idea to give him some guns.
Rick looked back at Morgan and said, "We'll give you some guns, where are you headed?" "Fort Benning, we heard they were setting up refugee centers there before the radio stopped broadcasting," Morgan said, then he asked. "Where are you guys headed?"
"Her fathers' house, then we're headed into the city." Rick said Morgan had an unsure look on his face then said. "The city got bombed the first night. I'm sure it's overrun with walkers now."
"We'll take our chances." He said, I looked at both of then and felt a presence behind me, turning around I see Grayson holding a bag full of guns, ammo, and knives I look down at Presley, picking her up I step out from behind rick. Morgan and Duanes' eyes instantly go to the little girl in my arms.
"One thing I do know, don't you get bit," Morgan says. "Bites kill, then you become one of them." I tense up when he says this, he notices. "Did it already happen to someone that you love?" I don't say anything and he takes the hint. "I understand, it happened to my wife. I don't have the heart to put her down."
Rick and Morgan talked for a while, while Grayson took the bag of guns to the car and came back with an empty one to fill with snacks from the vending machine. Rick gave Morgan a rifle and a few other guns. We said goodbye and that we'd see each other again someday.
We got in my car Rick beeped the horn twice as another goodbye, I sat in the passenger seat with Presley and hoped that we would find our father again someday.
