-Recap-
I rested on the table, waiting for the guy that was supposed to watch me come in, I heard a knock on the door. I sat up and said, "Come in." Not paying attention to who walked in until I heard.
"Sunshine?"
-Recap over-
I looked up, in front of me stood the one and only Merle Dixon. My uncle that I haven't seen in over five years. "How bout you give a hug for ya ol' pal Merle?" He said while looking at me. Hopping off the table, I run into his awaiting arms, he pulls me closer with his good arm, the metal on hangs by his side.
After a few minutes, the door opens and a man walks in, "Merle, already going after the new girl?" The man says I step back, "She's my Niece. Miltie, so you better watch what you're saying." He clears his throat and faces me, "The Governor wants me to take you to see him."
Merle stepped closer to me and stared down Milton, "I'll take 'er. Go back to being an errand boy." He said harshly as he grabbed my arm, walking out of the building. He let go of me as soon as we got out of the building, walking down the roads aways, a man was standing next to a building talking to a guard, Merle took me right over to him. The guard stopped talking when we stopped in front of them. "Governor, this is Natalia." Merle said.
"Welcome to Woodbury. I'm the Governor but you can call me Philip." He smirks looking at me. I get a weird feeling and moved closer to Merle, Merle didn't notice. "Where am I staying?" I finally asked. "In his apartment building, I'll make sure your room is close to his."
I'm taken to my room and explained that the person who lived in this apartment before me was a girl around my age and size so most of the clothes should fit. I was given a schedule and explained that we should not be out on the streets after dark.
I walked around the town, it had about fifty-eight people give or take and four babies on the way. I smiled at everyone looking around, I ate dinner and made my way back to the place that they were letting me stay in. Walking in and there was a small kitchen attached to a living room which was nice and cozy, I walked down the hallway where there were three doors. Opening the first door on my left and it was a bathroom closing the door, I opened the door on my right I was a study. There was a painting set and a large window so during the day all the light was let in, I walked out closing the door again and went to the last door. I opened it, it was a bedroom, a queen-sized bed in the middle with a dresser against the wall and a door leading to a walk-in closet. I set my bag down next to the door.
Walking in the closet I looked around, finding a pair of pajamas I put them on and walk to the bed laying under the covers, as soon as my head hit the pillow I fell asleep. Letting my memories and dreams sink in.
-memory / dream age thirteen: 3rd person Point of View-
Natalia played on the floor coloring in the coloring book her uncle got her. In the background, her mother and father were arguing yet. She couldn't hear the T.V was so loud.Natalia looked up as soon as the front door was open. It was Merle, she noticed he had white stuff around his nose and he was stumbling. "Hey, Sunshine," he pauses, "where's Darlina?" He asks. Natalia points to their room and goes back to coloring, about two minutes after Merle went into their room, her mother rushed out of the room with two bags."Pumpkin, let's go." Her mother looked down at her Natalia stood to grab her mother's hand then asked, "Where are we going, mommy?" Her mother didn't reply. Instead, she grabbed her hand rushing out of the house, not bothering to close the front door, letting it slam behind her, her mother picked her up, since she was a small girl putting her in her truck easily.
She watched as her father rushed out of the house yelling at her mother, Natalia watched as they were yelling back and forth and she finally heard what they were arguing about, Merle.
Merle came stumbling out of the house, he started to shout stuff. Her mother got into the car and started it up, reversing so she wouldn't hit Daryl. She sped off, never to see her husband again, also knowing that she inside her was his second child.Natalia sat there thinking, she then knew why they left. It was Merle's fault.
-memory / dream over-
I woke up stretching, it was the best night's sleep I had got in weeks. I stood up and walked into the bathroom, I remembered that the girl that showed me my room yesterday said that they had running water. I turned on the water putting my hand under the water. It was warm.
I smiled, taking the pajamas I wore to bed off, I stepped under the running water tilting my head back, I looked down and saw all the dirt and blood just washing away. About ten minutes later I got done scrubbing myself clean, I shaved my legs then got out wrapping myself in a fluffy white towel, I walk into the walk-in closet and realize the girl before me really loved dresses.
I decided to pick out a cream-colored dress with blue flowers all over it with nude undergarments, I grabbed a brown cardigan putting it on and some brown shoes. I grabbed my brown bag that was by my door and walked out of my apartment.
I walked down the sidewalk watching all the kids play, and the families talk, it all seemed too real to be true.
