-two weeks later-
Grayson pulled the bowstring back and released his breath letting it go, the arrow was sent flying, it hit the deer, the deer stood there for a second before sitting the ground, it was dead.
I looked away as he pulled the string back, it's been two weeks since Rick left and about four weeks since the 'walkers' rose, taking over everything so far within these two weeks, there have been five 'walkers' that have come close to the house.
We have made and set snares to catch our meals. So far we have caught, two bunnies, three squirrels, and one buck, within the two weeks, that we've been here. Grayson says we should move and try to find Rick or my father. But I fear that if we move that something bad will happen, Presley sleeps in my bed, never leaves my side when I'm in the house. When Rick left she wasn't to bothered by it, but now I think that she misses him sometimes,
-three weeks later-
We left my fathers' house about two days ago, we decided to go to the Centers for Disease Control as we got to it there was no building, it was just a pile of charred rubble, there were a bunch of walkers that were dead on the ground, I looked over at Grayson, who was driving, "What do we do now?" I asked he shrugged, "We keep driving. Do you know anyone else that lives in Georgia? Maybe your dad went there."
I thought about it before saying, "The Greene Family Farm, my dad used to work for Hershel." He nodded, I told him how to get there we arrived a few hours later just before it got dark, I got out opened the gate, he drove in after I closed it, getting back into the car and we drove up to the house. Hershel was standing on the porch when we stopped the car, I got out telling Grayson to get Presley who was sleeping and come with me.
I walked up the path to the steps of the house, Hershel smiled. "Natalia. Wow, you've grown up since the last time I saw you. Where's Daryl?" He asked, my smile dropped. "I thought you might have seen him, we were in Michigan when this all started." I said in a rushed tone if my dad wasn't here, then where was he?
"We?" He asked I nodded as Grayson appeared by my side with Presley in his arms. As soon as she saw me she outstretched her arms, wanting me to hold her, I took her out of his arms and said, "This is my sister Presley and my friend Grayson." Hershel nodded at Grayson, Grayson nodded back like a silent hello.
"Could we stay here Hershel?" I asked, "I would have to talk to Patricia about it. I don't see why not, if you're going to stay here. You have to live by my rules," He said, we all agreed that we could follow his rules, the next week wasn't bad we learned that the barn was full of walkers that Hershel didn't have the heart to put down, while everything was good around the farm I decided today was the day that I was going out to search for my dad, I said I would see everyone in a few weeks. I held Presley the longest time, I told her to be good to listen to Hershel and Grayson, and never go near the barn.
I got in my car and I was off on my journey to find my father.
-about one week later-
I walked down the street. My car was out of gas the second night. I stopped when I heard the groans of walkers looking around it was getting dark, I didn't want to be caught outside, so I started walking faster about ten minutes later I came across a sign that said 'WOODBURY' about two miles away.
I stopped, taking a drink of my water tuning everything out as I was standing there, I didn't hear the groan of the walker that was behind me. I yelped when I felt a hand grab my shoulder, I quickly snapped out of whatever I was thinking and tried to get away from it. Its jaws got closer to my shoulder I managed to get my knife out of its holder. I stabbed the blade into the base of the walkers' skull, its bony fingers let go of me, it slumped to the ground. I let out a breath that I didn't even know I was holding in. I looked around, making sure there weren't any more walkers before I wiped off my knife and started walking again. I walked for about half an hour before I arrived at the gates of Woodbury.
There were a man and a woman. They were standing on top of the wall, the man pointed his gun at me. I quickly put my hands up to let him know, I meant no harm. "Who are you? Why are you here?" He yelled out, I then replied, "I'm Natalia Dixon, I'm looking for a place to stay for a little while." He looked over at the woman, they gave similar looks before telling the guy on the ground to open the gates.
I walked in as the man still had his gun pointed at me, "Put your weapons on the ground and put your hands up." I did as he said, the woman walked down picking up the weapons, putting then on a cart she then patted me down and said, "All clear, follow me."
We walked into a clinic, then brought me to a room where a doctor was waiting. I stood near the door as it was closed, "Name?" the lady said, "Natalia Dixon." She looked up at my name, opened her mouth to say something but then shut it, "Age?" she asks, "eighteen years old." she rights it down then asks me to get on the scale to check my weight, I stood there uncomfortably. "ninety-five. How much did you weigh before?" she asked."Uh, one hundred thirty-five," I say and look at her, she motions me to sit on the table, "You're mal-nourished, how long have you been out there on your own?" she asked.
"Since the start." I said I didn't want anyone here to know who I was until I trusted the, she nodded writing it down. "I need to run an IV to give you all the nutrition that you've lost." She says, I nod understandingly and let her stick the IV in my arm.
About twenty-five minutes later she takes it out, I answer a few more questions. Then she says she has to go get the leader, and that one of the guards would come in and watch me, while I waited.
I rested on the table, waiting for the guy that was supposed to watch me come in, I heard a knock on the door. I sat up and said, "Come in." Not paying attention to who walked in until I heard.
"Sunshine?"
