Jamie's POV

"If I never see another chocolate pudding, it'll be too soon!" I wasn't kidding. I used to like it, but when it's the only dessert you get for a week, after almost every meal, you get kind of sick of it. I've been here for a week, two if you count the five days I was out.Wayne's been here every single day, but I wasn't always happy to see him, because he brought me my homework. Fun! I sat doing homework while I could've been watching a cool show on TV or running around the hospital, but No! Wayne had to be all serious about my education. Whenever he showed up, the first thing he would ask was "Is your homework done?"
He did it again today.

"Is your homework done?" he asked.

"Yes, sir!" I said, faking my enthusiasm. "Can I get a gold star now?"

"Wouldn't you just prefer a kiss?"

I gasped. "Sir! I'm appalled that you would ask such a thing! You better hope that I don't tell my parents!" He smirked and leaned down, giving me the most passionate kiss I've had in ages. He pulled away and looked into my eyes.

"I don't think your parents would want to hear about that one." he said with a crooked smile.

"I don't think they'd approve, but I'm definitely giving you an A for your technique."

He chuckled and leaned down for another one. This time, I pulled him closer, almost onto the bed with me, but he was still just leaning over me, supporting himself with his arms. He smiled into the kiss and I felt the kiss deepen. Not that I minded, but he still wasn't close enough for me. With a few strong tugs, I yanked him onto the bed and straddled him.

"Jamie . . . "he said, breaking the kiss. I tried protesting, but he pulled away. "We're in a hospital."

"So?" I said and leaned down to his ear. "Its kind exciting, don't you think?"

He chuckled and looked down a little. "I guess it is, but . . ." he faked a serious face. "Not in front of the baby."

"Ugh, it doesn't know what's happening."

Before he could respond, I kissed him again, this time with more force. He just chuckled and joined in. The kiss got deeper and deeper. Wayne took my face in his hands and explored my mouth till it felt like he'd memorized every detail of it, but it wasn't enough. I lightly tugged at handfuls of his hair, while his hands slipped lower and lower, finally landing on my outer thighs. My heartbeat sped up and so did my breathing, but I wasn't paying much attention. Maybe I should have, because the heart-rate-monitor was going crazy. It must've sounded like I was having some kind of seizure, because a nurse ran in on us, but we didn't notice her until she screamed. My face turned seven shades of red as I got off Wayne and he jumped out of the bed.

"What on earth do you think you're doing!?' she yelled. I looked at Wayne and saw he wasn't going to respond.

"Um . . . Kissing . . ." I mumbled.

"I could see that." she said, a little calmer. "But what makes you think you can do it in a hospital and in your condition?"

I shrugged. I wasn't going to say anything. The "condition" thing pissed me off a little. She sighed and helped me back into bed, throwing angry glares at Wayne as she did it. She fixed all my IV tubes and checked something on the monitor, before she turned back to me, smiling and shaking her head. I heard her mutter something under her breath about "kids" as she left the room. When I was 100% sure she was gone, I looked at Wayne and started laughing. He joined in too and we laughed till we couldn't breathe anymore. I looked him in the eye and smiled.

"There's something we can tell our kids." I said.

He looked surprised. "Sheesh, the first one's not even here yet and you're already thinking in plurals."

"Well, looking back at the event that just occurred, I don't think the count is going to stay at one."

He laughed and sook his head. We sat there talking for a while. "Hey, do you know how Liz is doing? I haven't heard anything about her in a while."

"She's home, that's why your parents can't always be here. Didn't your dad tell you?"

"No, he just wanted to know if me and the baby were fine. He didn't really stay long when he was here. I kind of feel bad. Liz got hurt the most. I remember we were talking about baby names when we got hit."

"You talk to your obsessive sister about names, but you don't tell me anything. That's not fair."

"Then what do you want to know?"

"Well, what did you tell her?"

"I just told her the names I like."

"And? What were they?"

"Sarah, Chloe, Emma. Drake, Chase and Ryan."

"Okay . . ." He thought for a minute. "Well, I have an aunt named Sarah . . ."

"Cool. So it could work?"

He frowned. "She has a moustache."

"Okay, that's one down. We are not naming our daughter Sarah."

"Who's says we're going to have a daughter?"

"I don't think we are, I'm just saying. I think it's going to be a boy."

"You do realize you have a tendency to always guess wrong?"

"I do not! . . . Just sometimes."

"Many times! You've never been able to guess any of your birthday presents right and whenever we've flipped a coin, it was always the opposite of what you called."

"Fine. I'm not good at guessing, but I still think it'll be a boy."

"Chase and Ryan sound okay, but I don't like Drake."

"The name or the person?"

"Both."

"Fine. Don't you have any ideas?"

"Yeah, but I don't know if you'd like them."

"So let me hear them."

"I kind of like the names Sean and Luke. Frankie's always sounded cool to me or Russell. I'm kind of a Russell Crowe fan."

"I'm sorry, but I don't like Russell. I like the other three though, but my cousin's name is Lucas. He'll think we named the kid after him. What about girl names?"

"You know that Shakespeare thing we did? Um, what's it called?"

"Merchant of Venice?"

"Yeah, that's the one. There was a name in it that I liked, Nerissa."

I thought about it for a second. "It is a pretty name. I like it."

"I also liked Mandy and Chelsea."

"Nah, I really like Nerissa."

"So if it's a girl, we're naming her Nerissa?"

"Yeah, I think so. It's kind of unique."

"Cool." he said, smiling and staring into space.

"Nerissa Mackenzie. It sounds really cute."

He kissed my forehead. "It does, doesn't it? Especially with my last name." I laughed and nudged him. Nerissa Mackenzie, my undetermined daughter's name. Beautiful.
