Where are you, Leila?
You agreed. You agreed to meet me and yet, you're gone. Every physical trace of you has vanished.
Your tiny house is clean. No pictures, no furniture, nothing.
Your car is missing.
The cat sanctuary you built has been removed.
Everything about you is just gone.
I'm so fucking confused.
Every time I try your number I get a message that says the number is no longer in use.

"Gone." He shrugs. "Sorry."
He spins on the balls of his feet and heads back off to his house. Leila, clearly he knows more than he's letting on. But there's an edge to his voice that says he's not going to readily hand over any information.
But, why?
What the hell happened between Tuesday and today that forced you out of your home? Out of your life? And where did it place you?
You are just full of all kinds of surprises.
"Hey, Peter. Is she safe?" I find myself asking. He stops again. Frustration licks at his skin. "That's all I care about. Can you at least tell me that?"
He nods. "She's safe." He replies and then disappears.
I head back to my car not quite knowing what else to do. Every time I feel like I'm getting somewhere I wind up being more lost than ever. I hate that you've up and disappeared. But I know there has to be a reason. A good one. One like...
