He only looks in confusion not saying a word as if his mind has given up its ability to speak. "Yea it's me Venom... And you're dying..." He seems to jolt back to life when I say this, "seems only fitting. You weren't in our life before we knew you so makes sense you won't after we do either." I shrug and Venom sits up.
"Come here please Travis." He says patting a place beside him. Shrugging I go taking my headphones off makes no sense to have them on if I'm not listening to anything. "So, you heard what we talked about. Yes, I am dying slowly but not definitely. My industries have already made a cure for minor cancers and that only took around a month so not much time need be spent on one for something like this." He tries to shrug it off but a sudden pain in his chest prevents him from doing so. "And as for your life if I knew about you, I would love to have been there for you as you and your brother grew up. But I made the foolish mistake to just leave your mom without so much as a reason for why and unfortunately, I missed out on it all... Your grandma told me about how your mom sacrificed so much to raise you two and stay afloat with money. Heh, I can only imagine the anger you must feel knowing that if I had been there that wouldn't have been necessary." He says motioning to the surroundings. "I'm sorry Travis, I truly am I don't know what I can do to gain your good grace back but I hope I can." He says before coughing more blood into the towel.
"Venom I don't know if I'll ever be able to completely let it go. For all, I know you could be lying to me right now, but I can always try and forgive you though I'll never forget. It's... it's going to take time but if you are determined then I'm sure you'll be able to find it." He smiles before seemingly falling back onto the bed like a fallen carcass. "Venom?" I say trying to get his attention. "Venom?" I say again but no response. "Venom!" This time louder, still nothing, oh crap. "MOM!!"
oOo
It's Christmas eve and still, Venom is in the hospital. He has been in and out of unconsciousness for two weeks and there has been no change since. Tink is taking it the hardest, having found out that Venom is sick, dying really, and knowing there isn't a real way out of it she is in distraught. "Hey, doc?" I say to the man taking test results for the second time today.
"Yes, young man?" He says.
"Is there anything new? Like a chance, he might wake up again?" I ask while Bell and the others sit and listen.
"Well, actually there is. His brain is starting to be more active than recently, so he is likely starting to dream, which is a good sign." We all smile at the news. "I have some more work to do I'll be back again tomorrow to run more tests." He leaves and we all stare in silence at Venom laying there unconscious.
"You know Travis this is a lot like how we were when you were in your coma. Travis and I by your side staring waiting for when you'd awaken. He acted as if he had already been with you for years even risking his company to cure you. Now all we can do is-."
She stops mid-sentence for no reason before standing up and walking over to Venom. "Mom?" I say confused.
"Bell?" I hear a male voice say.
"Marshall..." She says.
"What's today?" He asks.
"Christmas eve. The kids are her." She says waving us over to his view.
"Hey...dad..." I say making him chuckle.
"Hey son..." the others say hey as well to get equally toned responses. "What time is it?" He says.
"Forty minutes till Christmas. So good timing today heh." My mom says trying to be happy.
"Yea. Guess it is." The rest of the night till Christmas morning was pretty normal we all got to play some games until Venom fell back unconscious warranting crying from Tink. Dang it man just stay awake...
