(annie's pov)

one week later

jayden, armani, lilia, emily, asher, and i are going to the movies together tonight. today is friday and it's last period in stem. asher decided to sit in front of me today which i didn't mind.

jayden and armani have been talking which makes me extremely happy, she has liked him for so long and she definitely deserves it. emily and lilia are adorable as always. and me, i'm doing pretty good by myself.

asher and i are getting closer and i've only really known him for two weeks, but he always manages to put a smile on my face. i am actually glad i'm making more friends and getting out of my comfort zone a little.

during the whole class period i was in my head as usual, but i caught myself doing something. i kept glancing at asher. we were sitting against the wall so he was turned to the side giving my eyes the ability to see his face.

the thing i was stuck on was the sun shining through the window and hitting his eyes, making them a bright green i had never really noticed before.

apparently i was stuck in my head a little too long because asher noticed me. "annie..you good?" he whispered.

i quickly snapped out of it realizing what i was doing and responded "yeah...yeah i'm good." he giggled at me and then turned completely around facing the front of the class room.

after stem asher and i walked to our lockers together. i put up my books up and glanced down the hallway, but someone caught my eye. hayden. he was staring at me while all of his friends were huddled around him.

i shut the door to my locker and put my back to hayden, facing asher. "i'll see you at 7?" i asked him.

"yeah i'll see you there." he smiled.

i walked home and put my headphones on like it was a habit at this point, but after walking for a minute or so i had one of those gut feelings again. i slid my head phones off my head and to my neck as i kept walking.

i heard the rev of an engine behind me and immediately knew who it was. i kept walking but quickened my speed a little. i was just trying to get home.

he finally pulled up beside me, but i kept walking. my gaze stayed straight in front of me and i didn't even bother looking at him.
he kept following me and finally i heard the noise of his window roll down and he spoke "hello? annie i know you see me."

"go away hayden." i snapped back as i began to walk a little faster, but he still followed me.

i could see my house at the end of the street and at this point i still hadn't looked at him.
i kept walking and he kept following me.
"annie seriously i just want to talk." he giggled

i kept walking.

"i know you wanna look at me." he kept trying to get my attention but failed miserably.

i finally got to my drive way and stopped. i turned making dead eye contact with him and then started walking to the front door.

"well thanks sweetheart now i know where you live!" he yelled out.

i paused. whipped back around and walked up to his car. he was still giggling and i could hear his friends talking in the back seat.

i bent down to the window of his car leaving about a foot in between our faces. "come to my house again and see what happens. i'm not playing your games summerall." i smiled while flipping him off and then proceeded to walk to the front door.

as i walked away i heard he's friends 'ooo' and laugh in the backseat making fun of him. i was at my front door and glanced back to hear him say "shut up!" to his friends in a stern voice and then speed away.

i took a deep breathe knowing that moment was over. he has been doing dumb stuff like this all week, but following me home. he's making a big mistake.

for some reason whenever he 'intimidates' me all of my anxiety disappears. i still don't like talking to people and i still hate group projects, but when it comes to hayden. i just can't stand him.

i got inside and tossed my bag on the floor next to hayley's and then walked into the kitchen. my mom gave me sort of a confused look "what was all of that commotion outside?"

i rolled my eyes at the situation and responded dryly. "some idiots from school."

her eyes widened a little "did they follow you home?"

"yeah."

"do you need to ride with hayley and i next week?" she asked worried.

"no i'm fine. i got it." i smiled.

"oh...okay." she returned the smile.

i went to my room and closed the door. i began jotting down more lyric ideas for this song. i have no idea what i'm going to name it, or what it's going to be about but right now for some reason my mind was flooded with ideas and i needed to get them out.
