(annie's pov)

jayden dropped me off at my house around lunch and i was going to asher's house around 2pm.

i took a shower and then changed into one of caleb's hoodies and leggings. i slid on my air force ones and just ended up putting my hair in a low bun.

i decided to not wear any makeup and then my mom took me to asher's house. once we got there i thanked my mom, got out, and knocked on the door.

he opened the door and as soon as we made eye contact a smile seemed to appear on his face. "hi, come in." asher said stepping back and giving me room to walk in.

"do you want to go upstairs?" he asked pointing at his family all in the living room watching a movie.

i shrugged my shoulders "sure."

he opened the room to his door and it was definitely not what i was expecting. he has dark gray walls with a guitar hanging on the wall as well as many records, that i soon found belonged to a record player sitting in one of the corners of his room.

his bed was made up of a wooden bed frame, a smooth navy blue comforter and many white and black pillows. i looked around taking in all the details when i noticed a skateboard leaning up against the wall.

i looked at him and asked "you skate?"

he glanced over at the skate board and then rubbed the back of his neck as he said "uh sometimes."

"cool." i responded with a smile.

i walked over and sat down in his window seat. the first thing i noticed when i walked in. i laid my guitar case in my lap, but he came up to me and asked if he could see it.

he unzipped the case and slowly opened it to reveal my....caleb's beautiful wooden guitar, but what made it special was that it was stained red.

his eyes widened as the mixture of maroon and red tones jumped out at him. he slowly slipped it out of the case and started inspecting it. i laid the case on the floor and he sat next to me in the window.

he looked at me and smiled "i love the red. your choice?"

i looked at the guitar and pointed at the 'C.L' carved into the body similar to his own guitar. he noticed the letters and immediately knew what they meant. he ran his fingers across the engraving as a smile formed on his face again.

"he had beautiful taste." asher said making eye contact with me. i smiled, responding. "he did."

after playing around for about an hour he had shown me some cords and different things i needed to adjust. we took a break and he went downstairs to get us snacks.

i took this time to take in more aspects of his room. i got up and walked over to a shelf that had pictures on it. i picked up one in particular that looked like him when he was about 9, he was hugging a blonde little girl around the same age and their smiles were bigger than their faces.

i sat it back down and then picked up the picture next to it. it looked more like asher now, he was with the same girl again...except they were at the hospital. asher and the girl were alseep in a hospital bed, the girl being hooked up to more machines than i could count.

seeing that picture made my heart sink in so many different ways, but who was this girl? was she okay? i needed to know.

about this time asher came in. there was a smile on his face until he saw the picture i was holding, that smile quickly dissolved.
i furrowed my brows and he laid the snacks and drinks on his desk.

he walked up to me and slowly removed the picture from my hand as he sat down on his bed and started running his fingers over the girls face. i walked over and sat next to him soon noticing that his face was turning red and tears were forming in his eyes.

"who is she?" i asked softly as i started rubbing his back to comfort him.

(a/n: who do you think the girl is?? i hope everyone enjoyed this chapter! let me know what you think.)
