~eleven~

(annie's pov)

i went ahead and finished my homework and now i'm getting ready for the movies with everyone.

i decided to go like this

my hair was curled and i had on light makeup. i grabbed my phone and wallet as i headed to the living room where hayley and mom were.

"so how are you supposed to get there?" my mom asked as she looked up from her phone.

"oh, asher is supposed to pick me up."
i responded with a soft smile.

she smiled too "you two have been spending an awful lot of time together recently..."

this made hayley giggle. i rolled my eyes at her and responded to my mom "it's okay we are just friends."

my mom gave me a funny look and then turned to the tv. about this time there was a knock at the door.

i looked through the peep whole to see asher's face on the other side. i then opened the door with a smile. "hi."

"hey." he returned the smile. then out of no where my sister decided to join the conversation. she walked up beside me and said "hello, my name is hayley. nice to meet you." she then held out her hand.

"hi...i'm asher. nice to meet you too." he let out a little giggle as he shook her hand.

"okay have fun." she said as she walked away.

he looked at me and smiled as he said "that was..."

"awkward. yeah i know..." i smiled back at him as i finished his sentence this time, repeating the past from when i was at his house.

we both laughed and then headed out. on the way there was pretty much silence but we listened to music. once we got to the theatre everyone was already there.

we were going to see "IT Chapter 2." i actually kinda like scary movies, i don't know about asher or armani though. lilia, jayden, emily, and i were so hyped, we've been talking about this for weeks. i got a cherry slushy and a large popcorn to share with anyone who wanted. i ended up sharing with asher since he sat next to me.

we got to our seats and ended up getting a whole back row. armani was on the end near the aisle with jayden next to him, emily was next to jayden, and then lilia sat next to emily obviously, i was next to lilia, and finally asher was next to me sitting against the wall.

as it was going through the advertisements i scrolled through instagram and saw a picture asher posted earlier

he was wearing the same thing in this picture that he's wearing right now so i'm assuming this was taken earlier this afternoon.

the caption caught my eyes for a second. it made my brain spin for a second wondering all the different things it could mean and any person on his planet that he could be taking about. i shook off the feeling and turned my phone off for the movie.

as the movie started asher leaned over and told me something i wasn't expecting but i kind of was at the same time. "hey...guess what."

"hmm?"

"i don't really like scary movies..."
he said shyly.

i looked at him and my mouth dropped open in fake astonishment. "good luck." i smirked and then turned back to the screen.

the large bowl of popcorn was slowly but surely getting lower. asher and i had almost eaten the whole thing and we were only half way through the movie. i reached in to grab a handful of popcorn but instead i felt something that definitely wasn't popcorn.
it was a hand....asher's hand.

i dropped my handful of popcorn back in the bucket and pulled my hand out. his eyes widened for a second as we made eye contact and then we both started giggling, to soon be shushed by lilia.

he took out what he wanted and then handed me the bucket of popcorn. "you can have the rest." he whispered as he began munching on what he had in his hand.

i turned back to the screen and smiled at the moment. maybe i was starting to become happy again. like truly happy. i haven't felt this way in a very long time.

there had been a few jump scares and this resulted in asher jumping a little in his seat which made lilia and i giggle. armani seemed to be doing fine and jayden and emily would laugh at the jump scares for some reason...i don't know.

but there was one jump scare. i saw it coming, but apparently asher didn't. i had one arm rested on the arm rest and my slushy in the other hand. asher had been doing fine. until now. it apparently scared him so badly he grabbed both of his arm rests, but the thing is...my hand was on one of them.
