"I'm sorry I didn't hear anything you just said. Your dog is so cute" she gushes as her eyes keep following Oden, my boxer. I let out a soft laugh and shake my head in amusement. I knew bringing him would be a distraction but I had to take him to the vet and deep down I knew Sabrina would love him so I thought why not bring him with us on our 'date' or 'hangout' after he's done. I don't know what to call these anymore. We've had so many at this point that it became a routine, might as well call this one a typical wednesday. However it's one of the reasons why I'm not looking forward to her leaving tonight, I'm always used to having her around.
She spent this week focusing on her movie which I was glad about but it also meant I didn't see her these past few days. She told me about how she was struggling with keeping herself together lately because of everything that's happening in her life. I'm glad I could make her live a little but I didn't want to be the reason why she wasn't focusing on her work. She insisted it had nothing to do with me though but I still told her to take a breath and focus on one thing at a time. I guess she took my word. Anyways I'm just glad to be with her again. That is until she has to go.
"I asked you what time do you have to be back at your hotel." Because she's leaving for two weeks I wanted to try and make the most of it tonight and try to get as much time as I can with her. For some reason I thought going on a small hike with her was a good idea. I mean I get to show her a great view of Alabama which is sort of romantic and Oden gets to go on a walk.
"Oh" she giggles "By 10 pm" she answers as I furrow my brows "Why are you flying so late?"
"Its a 6 hour flight. If I leave at night I'm gonna get there tomorrow morning which means I sleep on the plane and go straight to work as soon as I land" I frown "Don't you get a few hours off and get to see your family first?" She sighs and shakes her head "I have to do an interview first and then I'm going home" she explains.
"That sucks" she purses her lips together and shrugs "Yeah I guess."
"Do you even sleep on the plane?"
"Do you want the truth or a lie?"
"Truth. I'll always want the truth" she takes a deep breath before answering me. "I can't sleep on a plane" she admits before bringing her bottom lip between her teeth. I stare at her in shock before my features turn into confusion.
"Then what's the point of flying at night if you're not gonna sleep anyways?!"
"Well my manager can sleep on a plane so he thinks it's better and as for me I honestly don't care because at this point I'm a walking zombie living off coffee which I hate by the way" she points out.
"Since when do you hate coffee? I've seen you drink like 5 cups in one go."
"I drink it because I have to. I have to put some milk in it and a lot of sugar to drink it which isn't healthy but I gotta do something to live."
"So let me get this straight, your going to stay awake for 2 days straight?" She shakes her head. "The interview should be done around lunch time so when I get home, I'll eat and spend a bit of time with my family before going to bed around maybe 4 and I'll sleep until the next day to catch up" she explains.
"You know what would've been smarter?" She quirks a brow at me. "You sleeping this afternoon and waking up before you had to leave like that you would've been less exhausted for your interview" she shakes her head. "That wouldn't of been smarter" she disagrees.
"Oh yeah? Why not?" I ask curiously. She looks up at me with her big blue eyes and smiles softly "I wouldn't of been able to see you" she answers. My heart skips a beat and the longer I look at her the more I just want to let out all of my emotions for her. Let her know how much I like her. It's not the right timing though. It doesn't feel right to tell her now. This isn't our moment yet.
