Beacon had become a lot more lively with all the new transfer students coming in from the different kingdoms, but you supposed it was to be expected since this year the Vytal festival was being held in Vale. All the strongest students representing their schools and kingdoms but all you could really focus on was who you'd be your first opponent. Right now you were in one of the schools training rooms, three training robots broken at your feet.
You: (watching glowing aura fade from hand) Nope still can't control it yet.
As your aura faded the black pendant around your neck seemed to glow too for a brief moment, it pulsed around your neck like a heart beat.
You: (examining pendant) What the hell are you?
???: (entering room and see broken bots) Woah not bad kid.
Dropping the pendant back around your neck You turned around to see a gray haired boy walking into the room with his hands in his pockets.
You: Thanks I guess.
Gray haired boy: (kicking robot) But wouldn't you rather practice on a real person?
You: Sure but If I didn't know any better I'd think you were volunteering.
Gray haired boy: (smirks) I might be.
You: (smiles) Alright then bring it on.
The two of you took positions at opposite sides of the room and stared each other down for a long moment, the gray haired boy made the first move running towards you fast before swinging his leg at you, you raised your arms to block as the hit sent you sliding back.
You: Thats a nice kick.
Gray haired boy: There's more where that came from.
He goes to kick you again except this time you dodged the attack and sweeped his leg from under him, you followed up with a kick of your own before his body could even touch the floor. The force from your attack knocks him back but he managed to stay on his feet.
Gray haired boy: Your not bad yourself hot shot.
You: (jumps and spin kicks him in chest) Who are you anyway?
Gray haired boy: (grabs leg and throws you towards wall) Beat me and maybe I'll tell you.
You: Heh alright then.
You flip and push yourself off the wall charging back at the boy, he also runs towards you ready to counter, just as the two of you were about to clash the doors to the training room flies open and in walks Glynda with her signature scowl.
Glynda: You two! Unsupervised fights are against school rules. (To Grey haired boy) Mercury is it? Since your new here I'll let you off with a warning but you Mr L/n, you will be facing a severe punishment.
You: (rolls eyes) Eh what else is new.
Mercury: Sorry Teach but I'm the one who started it, didn't really give him a chance to decline either.
You looked at Mercury surprise while Glynda's gaze shifted between the two of you.
Glynda: (sighs) Fine but this is the last warning for the both of you. Now get out while I clean up
This mess.
You/Mercury: Yes ma'am. (Leaves room)
You: You know you didn't have to cover for me.
Mercury: (shrugs) We'll call it even for making my first day at Beacon interesting.
