Cas (POV)

We arrived at Dean’s uncle’s house and entered the door slowly. It was getting late but it wasn’t too late so the living room light was still on and the TV was still blaring out. Dean still had a hold of my hand and he squeezed it slightly before pulling me into the living room behind him. Sam looked up from the sofa and smiled but his smile quickly dropped when he saw me stood awkwardly behind Dean.

“Oh my god.” He says and Gabriel hits him.

“Oi, that’s my pa you’re cursing.” He jokes but turns around to see what Sam is looking at. Once he sees me his face goes livid. He stands up quickly and approaches me and Dean cautiously, his face pulled into a tight frown.

“What are you doing here, traitor?” He spat at me and I hung my head.

“I didn’t-“I started but Dean interrupted me.

“Stop it Gabriel, Cas hasn’t done anything wrong. You know why he had to help Zandriel, she told you herself!”

“Keep out of this; it has nothing to do with you.” Gabriel hissed at Dean and turned his glare back on me. I gulped and looked up at Dean sadly, shaking my head.

“It’s okay Dean, he has every right to be angry.” I mutter, looking down at the ground and waiting for Gabriel to throw his bowl of popcorn that he was carrying on my head.

“How could you leave us like that, Cas?” Gabriel whispered. I looked back up quickly and saw hurt in his eyes. “How could you go without saying goodbye? How could you help a demon army grow?”

“It was part of my mission Gabriel, you wouldn’t understand.” I reply, looking at him now with a frown.

“Wouldn’t understand? I’m your big brother Castiel, I would have helped you and I would have died for you. I’m your brother and sometimes that is better than being a superhero because you used to look up for me, and then you left and instead of you looking up to me, I looked everywhere for you. Me and Balthazar travelled the whole God damned earth looking for you but nothing, we found no trace of you and for so long we thought you were dead until Michael came to us with the news that you had-“ He choked on his word. “Fallen.”

“I didn’t fall Gabriel, I’m still an angel.” I reply, keeping my face hard as stone. My heart ached and I wanted to reach out and hug him but I couldn’t because I knew he was hurting, I knew he was angry with me.

“Are you? Prove it.” I sigh and start extending my now fully grown wings. There was not a scratch on them or no wing out of place. They were in perfect condition so I raise an eyebrow at Gabriel.

“If I had fallen my wings would have either been burnt and torn or ripped out completely. You know this, but here they are still looking as fresh as the day they grew.” He stared at them and gulped slightly before averting his gaze back to my eyes.

“Y-you’re still an angel?” I nod. “THANK GOD!” He runs up to me and hugs me tightly, burying his face into my chest.

“I am so sorry Gabriel.” I say, my voice breaking slightly as I wrap my arms around him. “I’ve missed you so much.”

We break apart and look at each other; I smile slightly and look towards Sam who is smiling happily at us both, bouncing on the balls of his feet happily.

“Hello Sam.” I say and he squeals and runs over to me, hugging me tighter than even Gabriel did.

“Alright, alright. Hands off.” Dean said loudly after the hug lasted longer than necessary.

“Don’t be so jealous Dean; I haven’t seen him in as long as you and he were just as close to me!” Sam exclaimed indignantly and Dean scoffed.
