*Good song to listen to while reading: Talking to the Moon by Bruno Mars

Rose, Matthew, Clarisse, and Nico fell from the sky. All but Nico still mourning over their dead friend. When they hit the ground, it was painful, but unlike the excruciating and never-ending pain of losing a loved one.

Nico disappeared into thin air on the spot. Campers rushed to their aid, asking if they succeeded, what happened, and where Jacob was. The most concerned were Grover and Chiron. The group stayed quiet, afraid to speak in fear they might break.

"Is he... dead?" Leo finally asked. The group looked mournfully at the campers. Grover ran away, tears forming in his eyes, and Chiron bowed his head in respect.

"We have lost a great hero. Let us have a proper ceremony for our friend." Chiron called, gathering the group around a girl kindling a small fire nearby.

Soon, all campers were standing around the campfire as the flames burned high into the afternoon sky. The trees seemed to bow in respect, mourning along with Camp Half-Blood. It began to rain outside of the protected camp. They allowed the rain to enter everywhere except over their campfire.

"We have lost a dear friend, Jacob Froushwits, son of Pan. He died a heroic death and will most certainly live a life in Elsyum. Matthew Balver would like to say a few words." Chiron said. Matthew cleared his throat.

"Jacob was a dear friend. When we first met, I knew were were destined to be best friends. We never fought about anything and battled side by side countless times. I will miss him greatly, but he deserves living in Elsyum. He was truly a hero and will never be forgotten." Matthew stepped back, choking on his words.

Rose wrapped her arms around him and held him close. After Clarisse, Rose, and Grover spoke, they all went to their cabins for the night.

Matthew couldn't sleep, so he snuck to Jacob's favorite spot where he often went to think. He climbed the tree by the beach and watched the moon hike higher into the sky.

A beautiful blue jay landed next to him, seeming to mourn as well. He recognized the bird as the one Jacob was talking to the day they got news of their quest. That seemed so long ago.

"Chloe?" He guessed. The bird looked at him with sad eyes and seemed to nod a little. The little blue bird sat with Matthew all night, watching over the sleeping boy, making sure Jacob's best friend didn't fall too.

THE END

Here's a little sneak peak of the second book because I'm a nice author. (And yes, there'll be a second book. I can't just leave it like this now can I?)

Jacob opened his eyes to see a huge palace around him. He rubbed his eyes, but when he pulled his hands back, he could see through them.

"W-where am I?" He asked, and a deep voice replied.

"The palace of Hades." Jacob turned around to see a man with a robe that had what looked like screaming people caught inside. He wore a battle helmet and Ancient Greek sandals.

Nico Di'Angelo appeared next to the man with the screaming robe and smiled.

"You're up." Nico said.

"Of course. What am I doing here? I need to get back to my friends." Jacob said.

"Oh Jacob. An innocent soul. He would be perfect for my collection on innocent souls..." the screaming robe man said.

"Dad!" Nico cried.

"Dad? You mean you're-"

"Hades, yes. Now back to the innocent soul thing..."

"Dad. Stay on track." Nico said through gritted teeth.

"Oh, oh yeah. So there's this prophecy that we need to tell you about." Hades said, his robe quieting down a little as if straining to hear.

"Let me do the talking from now on. You're doing a horrible job explaining things to him." Nico said. "So, you're dead."

"Oh that was a much better explanation." Hades said sarcastically.

"Shut up. Anyway, you died in battle, but there is a way to get you back. I was told the Prophecy of Two. It goes like this..."
