Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Mystery guy makes an appearance

Mystery guy POV - two months ago

I hated leaving her in the forest. After moving her to her to her favourite area, I packed my clothes into the backpack and shifted. My inner wolf finally left at peace being in this form. He is always restless under the moon when I haven't changed. I picked up the backpack in my teeth and started the run back to our pack house. "What's going on Kobe?" I asked him through the mind link.

That was the great thing about being a wolf, we could talk to other were's through this link.

"The other alpha says there is restlessness between the supernaturals. It's becoming worse, he won't tell me any more then that. I'm only the Beta."

"Damn okay send in Gerard, I want you out here keeping an eye on my mate. I left her in her favourite forest area. Look after her Kobe." I sent him in a threatening voice.

"On it sir"

It was then all quiet in my head on the run back. I thought about my mate and wondered what her name was. I should have talked to her first but she was just so beautiful standing there in the woods. I couldn't stop myself from taking her there.

Within 10 minutes I was back at the house. It was a big three story house. There was enough room for all of our pack members, although most family's moved into other houses on this land. It just gave them the privacy they wanted. The pack house now was mainly for emergencies or attacks, all were's in the outside houses would move back in. Everyone was happy and content. In my 25 years we had never had to move them back in, but if there was discord in the supernatural world it would be safer for our wolves to be together.

I saw Kobe go running past. He was two years younger then me, my best friend. I had met him in primary school, me being in year 7 and him year 5. Some fellow year 7's were bullying him, I stood up for him. Got into my first fistfight that day. It was unusual for an alpha child but I was extremely disciplined. Once I had taken out the first kid the others ran. Kobe was my most loyal pack member, so naturally he became my Beta.

"Get a move on Kobe, if she wakes up follow her I want to know where she lives, don't talk to her and don't let her see you. And use your strength so she doesn't sense you. She's strong though."

His wolf nodded at my order and ran off into the forest. I just hoped she hadn't woken yet.

The other alpha was standing at the top of my stairs to the front door.

"Well, well, Phil what can I do for you. I haven't seen you in years my old friend." Phil was the only other alpha in the country. We both had pretty large packs, his being 250 strong and mine 200.

"Had to come over and test your defences, lacking a bit my man, I managed to get through to the pack house. Didn't see one wolf until Kobe. Even then he didn't try to attack me." Phil replied smugly.

"Come on man my defence wolf know you. They let you through knowing I trust you. Lets go talk in my office. I take it what you have to tell me isn't pleasant and I don't want any pack ears hearing." I said referring to my nosey mother and sister hiding around the side of the house. They still tried, it's like they forgot I could sense them. Gotta give them points for trying.

Phil laughed knowing what I meant and called out "hey Ma, hey Lilly."

We then both saw their heads pop out from around the corner sheepishly. Silly woman. Lilly was five years younger then me and had become a beautiful woman. She locked eyes with Phil for the first time since she had turned and I saw her eyes go wide.

"Congratulations man, hurt her and I'll rip you a new one" I said to Phil with a smile on my face. He blushed. The man actually blushed!

"I'll, I have to talk to your brother then I will come back to you okay? I promise."

"Sure Phil, I understand. I'll see you later." My sister replied.

We then walked into the house and to office, all the while hearing mum cry and scream in excitement about her baby finding her mate. It was the happiest I've seen mum in a long while.

"Alright Phil, spit it out I can see the tension on your face. What's going on?"

"There is a war starting soon. Between all the supernaturals. The leaders have started this fight and have a few followers. There are those of us who don't want to fight. But they are recruiting. My pack doesn't want to fight, they don't have issues with the other species. Even the vampires don't want to fight. We have had hundreds flee to our pack lands seeking shelter. The Fae leader in this country wants a peace treaty. The Light and Heavy Witches are seeking asylum in our land."

(NOTE: Light witches only have basic powers and energy, Heavy witches are stronger and more often fighters.)

"What? How can the leaders do this when the people only want peace?"

"I don't know man, it's getting bad. We are getting crowded. We need help. I don't want to ask but we are running out of resources at this rate. Can you please help us?"

I didn't even have to think about it. "Of course man. Start sending some over here. I'll move our wolfs into the main house and the outer houses can be for our guests. Do you need food or money? You know we can help."

"We are good in that department for now. Thank you Quinn"
