I walked down the ally of an all too familiar street that lead to the building that had caused so much trouble. I feel a slight chill go down my back and I straighten myself out.
I keep my eyes open and become more alert for anything that could lie behind these doors. I grab the door handle and suddenly feel a presents behind me. I whip around and place my sword against the person's throat.
"Oh my god, Jace!" I exclaim seeing his face with no expression staring down at me. I lower my sword immediately and instantly feel my guilt and humility rise. I go to open my mouth and apologize, but he cuts me off.
"Later." Is all he says as he ushers me to turn around . I turn and look at the door with suspicious rising in me. I ignore all my instincts and I open it. I notice the room is completely silent as I step into the building. I leave the door wide for Jace behind me. I feel a cold chill run down my spine and I know that he is here.
"Hello, sister." I hear an echoing familiar voice vibrate through the room. I turn to Jace and see him standing next to me in a defensive position with anger flooding in his eyes.
"Johnathan." Jace scruffed softly.
"Yes, Jace. I am back. Did you miss me?"
"Show your face, courage." Jace demanded of him. We waited for a sign of movement, but there was none.
"Now, Jace, where is the fun in that?" He chuckled lightly. it sounds like he was right next to us, but as my eyes searched the bottom level I saw nothing.
"What do you want?" I yell up to the balcony. I feel my body move towards the stairs searching for where he could be. I feel Jace's eyes on me widen with disapproval.
"It's the same thing I've wanted from the beginning."
"Clary." Jace said with worry and anger, answering his statement. I walk slowly up the stairs taking each step with cautious, so that he will not know I'm coming.
"My dear sister did you not think I'd know your tricks by now? I know you better than you know yourself." I heard his laugh as if he was behind me. I look over to Jace with wide eyes. I start running up the stairs after Johnathan, knowing he must be up there.
"Clary!" I hear Jace yell after me. I reach the stop stairs to see nothing, no one. I turn around looking all around me but only hearing silence and seeing emptiness. I tune into the ticking sound that I had heard just seconds after entering the building, but had ignored. I look down to see Jace, who seemed to be hearing it too.
I look behind Jace to see three people about to enter. Jace must have called Izzy, Alec, and Magnus for backup.
"Oh sister, you should have known better." I look to see Jonathan standing just a few feet away from me, near a window. I look back down at Jace who was running towards the door, getting away from what was about to happen, and making sure the others were too. When I turn to where Johnathan had just been, I see him no where in sight.
Thoughts running through my head, and hearing an explosion erupt from downstairs, I feel myself run towards that same window that Johnathan was just standing at. I brace myself as my hearing continues to ring and I collide into the window, causing it shatter.
I feel my body dropping down drastically. I close my eyes tight and feel my body hit the ground.
