Jace POV

I intensely stare at the screen as my thumb runs over Clary's hand. There he was sitting in a chair farther away from the camera. I felt the tension in my body return at the sight of the god awful Johnathan.

"Where did you come from?" I heard Alec's voice before he emerged into view. I felt Clary's eyes on me, so I picked up her hand, that was wrapped in mine, and kissed it lightly, trying to reassure her.

"You think I know?" Johnathan said back calmly but clearly was insulted.

"You seem to know all the answers to everything." Alec commented back, "The prophecy? Want to start there?" Alec asked and you could see anger growing by the minute. Alec's statue was tall and in control.

"The prophecy, it's complicated." Johnathan said calmly, but his words implied he was confused with it all himself.

"Then start from the beginning." Alec said regaining his composure and choosing to be calm rather than angry.

"There is no beginning." Johnathan said with his usual sarcasm and attitude. Alec's body tensed up with his words, but then rested.

"Fine." The chair Johnathan was chained to was the only object in the room. Alec leaned momentarily against a nearby wall. "Where did you hear of this prophesy?" Johnathan stayed silent to his question. Alec stepped forward and pulled Johnathan by his shirt. Johnathan smiled in pleasure of the anger he caused. "Answer me." The chains made a rumble as Alec threw him back into the chair.

"Don't you want to protect Clary?" A familiar voice echoes out of the sight of the camera. It suddenly made sense who it was; it was Izzy. "Your sister." Izzy spoke again as she struts into view. I looked back at Johnathan who was obviously conflicted with what he should say.

"I heard it from a merchant." Johnathan finally decided to speak.

"What were you doing talking to a merchant?" Alec demanded his tone expresses how angry he was. Johnathan's brow that lowered as he spoke communicated that he was serious.

"It doesn't matter. Not to this. Anyway," He said relaxing in his seat. His grin did not return, "I told him who I was and he acted as if he was reciting something, but I do not know from where."

"So, you killed Jackson to tell us the message?" Izzy said in a calm yet stern voice.

"That shadowhunter?" He scoffed as Izzy nodded to his question, "No, I was watching Clary, but I saw who took him." He said simply. His words boiled in my veins.

Clary POV

I felt a chill go through me as I heard Johnathan proudly say he was watching me. How had I not seen him?

"Who took him?" Alec demanded. Johnathan's spun in his chair, with his chains making loud bangs, as he turned from Izzy to Alec.

"A demon, but it was not one I had seen before." He said flaunting his knowledge, "I followed him to the building and then lead Clary to it." His words were so calm and creepy that another chill ran through me.

Jace looked at me and I met his gaze. His eyes seemed to ask if I was alright. To answer him, I pulled his hand to me, still looking into his eyes, I kissed it, lovingly. I placed our interlocked hands in my lap, and Jace seemed satisfied, so we both turned back to the screen. Deep down, this information that Johnathan was giving us made me very uneasy, but having Jace here settled me.

"So, since you told us that you didn't kill him and didn't write out the prophecy. What is your version of the prophecy?" Izzy asked calmly. Johnathan faced her and then looked directly into the camera, as if he knew we were watching.

"An angelic full-blooded child will be born." He paused and smiled disturbingly, "So congratulations Clary." I felt Jace's hand tighten around mine. I felt his movement as he got ready to stand in anger.

"Hey, hey." I say to him holding his hand and pulling him back to his seat. "this is just another one of his games." I assured him. His eyebrows were sharp and stern, but he nodded in agreement as he sat back down.

"Okay so know that Jace and Clary had a child. Keep going." Alec demanded in anger. Johnathan huffed in disgust.

"Really Clary? Jace?" Johnathan's voice disgusted my ears. I ignored his remarked, so did Alec and Izzy, but Jace did not seem to do the same. I turned to face him. His eyes were glued on the tv and his expression showed hatred and rage. I leaned over to him and whispered into his ear.

"You are amazing, don't listen to this idiot, okay?" I kissed the top of his ear softly, "I love you." Throughout these past weeks everyone was on edge and more sensitive, so I hoped this help him. I turned to face the tv again and I felt Jace lift our intertwined hands and kiss my hand graciously. I saw his eyes were still glued to the tv, but at least he had comprehended what I had said. I smiled slightly, feeling accomplished.

"This child will be a very powerful weapon. She will be the most powerful being" I hated hearing these words from Johnathan, "Clary's pain will be the beginning of the end. There is one way to stop that with blood from a vampire, but that will not end the prophecy." I restrained myself from looking at my best friend, but I felt his stare on me.

"The child will be far more powerful than one can imagine. The child will be taken from her family. The angelic-blooded child will be taken and never seen again. This is fated." Johnathan spoke these words with ease, showing no emotion.

"That's it?" Izzy said thinking the same as everyone else. Nothing was said about Jace and his predicted death. I could see the blood words from my memories that read: 'In efforts to prevent the inevitable your love with be crushed in front of your eyes. This time he will be gone for good.'

"Yes. That's all he said." Johnathan said looking at Izzy now. Alec shot us a look through the camera. Izzy looked back at Alec not knowing what to say next.

"Why should we believe you?" Alec asked obviously annoyed.

"Why would I lie? I want to help Clary. I looked into her rune and if she doesn't get it off in time she will die." I tensed instantly. "You need an infusion of vampire blood." Johnathan insisted. I saw his sympathy and emotion. It was raw, but it felt true.

Jace stood and pulled me out of my seat. I wasn't surprised that he didn't want to stay for all of it, since it was probably lies anyway. I followed him without hesitation.
