Clary POV
I stared at the wall, debating what I would actually say to Jace. It wasn't second thoughts, but it was something similar to cold feet. I wanted Jace more than ever, wanted to call him my husband, but the prophecy was still deep in my thoughts.
I was so tired of losing the people I loved most. If any thing happened to Callie and Jace, I don't thing I could survive that, I couldn't go on knowing I would be alone, forever.
"Hey." Jace's voice ripped me from my thoughts, and my eyes instantly following the sound as I watched him close the door behind him. Jace's smile was wide and his eyes showed his excitement, I hated knowing once I spoke it would be dulled. "Izzy said you needed to talk."
"I..." I felt my breath disappear as thoughts continued to circle my brain.
"Clary, what is it?" Jace's voice was calm and his hands wrapped around mine, holding them in his grasp. I felt comforted by his touch as I started to speak again, "I just can't stop thinking about the prophecy. There's so much that could go wrong, I just- I can't lose you too, Jace."
Jace POV
I could feel Clary's concern, and knowing she was so destroyed with our future made me ache for her, but deep down I wasn't worried like she was.
"Clary, have you forgotten what the past 10 years have been like for us?" I felt a small chuckle escape my lips, as my gaze remained on her. I watched as a small smile formed on her lips. "You've been through hell and back, literally." I told her as she tried to contain her laughter as she shook her head. "Yeah, the odds are against us, but I never want us to live in fear. You should never live in fear." I lifted my hand to her cheek and smoothed her skin under my thumb. "If I have anything to say about it, you'll have years before you can get rid of me."
Clary's small chuckled, showed me I was making progress. Although this was me trying to ease her fears, I did believe everything I was saying.
"I can't live in regret of the past. That's why when you collapsed in my arms, I vowed that I would never let a moment past without being completely content with my actions. I believe a certain redhead was trying to teach me this a long time of ago." I jokingly said.
"She sounds pretty smart." Clary said laughter. Her head bobbed before looking back up at me.
"Yeah, she is." I said with a chuckle in return. I watched as Clary's smile remained on her face. Her fears had subsidized, and she was back to her normal self. "Now where are you off to now?" I asked as we remained sitting on the bed, breaking the silence. Clary's head remained tight against my chest as she began to spoke.
"Izzy says we're having a "good time," whatever that means." I could hear the discontent in her voice as she picked up her head to face me.
"And what do you want to do?" I asked, knowing by Clary's mood that was not her ideal night. She looked at me with a brighter smile as she spoke.
"Just a simple night with you and Callie." She said looking down at the floor.
"Alright." I said standing up and walking towards the door.
"Alright what?" Clary asked, stopping me in my tracks. I turn around to answer her question.
"I'll go get Callie and we'll have a simple movie night." I simply said.
"But what about Izzy?"
"But nothing. It's our wedding, you are the bride. You will get your wish. I'll handle Izzy later, not like she could unlock a rune that we put on the door." I said turning around and exiting our room. As I carried on down the hallway, I could still hear her sweet laughter.
