Jace POV
I struggled to open my eyes as the sunlight glared through the curtains of my bedroom and onto my face. I moved my head away from the light and startled myself as my nose brushed against a few bright red curls. I smiled as I brushed the strands of hair with the hand that was available.
I felt my right arm pinned under Clary's body and her head was rested on my chest. I breathed slower, in efforts to not wake her. My hand that was brushing through her curls now was running along her arm that was wrapped around my waist.
The memories from last night were embedded in my mind. The proposal. The love. The connection. It was amazing.
I remember feeling so much relief as I watched Clary's face throughout my proposal to see she was effortless joyful and ecstatic. That relief filled me now as my eyes stared at the ring on her finger that sparkled with the sunlight.
"Jace?" I heard her whisper as my eyes met hers. I felt a smirk spread across my face.
"You're so beautiful." I spoke with awe. She blushed as she readjusted herself. I allowed my hand to fall and lay soundless on my chest.
I watched as her head began to rest against her arm that was holding her up. I lied in my same position, refusing to move and risk the possibility to lose the sight of her.
"Jace last night was....." She bit her bottom lip.
Clary POV
I began to think of the night that had ended not too many hours ago. The joy. The happiness. The pleasure-
"Amazing." Jace echoed as I pulled myself out of my memories. I moved my head so that our lips were barely an inch apart and whispered to him.
"I was going to say perfect." I giggled as I pushed my lips against his. I felt our kiss intensify as Jace leaned up and putting his hand within my curls. I allowed him to pull my body closer to his as we sat up straight. My belly button skimmed his muscular abs and a chill ran down my back.
Suddenly, a short knock was at our door and as I pulled up the sheets and Jace turned to the direction of the door, it opened.
Simon stepped in swinging the door open and emerging into our room. He spoke, "Oh my!" quickly as he crackled the door and looked down away from our indecent selves. I couldn't help but giggled.
"What's up, Simon?" Jace spoke with a boyish smirk emerging from his face, fighting to urge to laugh with me.
"Uhhhh...... Well Alec scheduled a meeting with the three of us when he returns to the institute." He quickly flashes his watch towards himself and spoke again, "Which would be in like thirty minutes-ish."
"Wait, Alec is coming here?" Jace asked. I looked up at him to see that his boyish smile has disappeared.
"Yeah Alec and Izzy, but they are leaving Johnathan in the underground cells at Idris." Simon said as he looked up at us. "Oh shoot!" He spit out forgetting our situation. I felt my cheeks blush with embarrassment.
Jace must have notice, because as I looked down to avoid anyone seeing my cheeks flaring, he wrapped his arm around my bare waist. I looked up at him with a small smile and he gave me his beautiful reassuring eyes.
"Well... See you in a half hour." Simon said just before whooshing out of the room and having the door close behind him.
I know I should have been stressed about this meeting and should wonder what Alec had to say, but I was still giddy from the past hours.
I leaned over and pressed my lips genteelly against Jace's ear. His eyes hut at my touch and my smile grew in joy.
"So that means we have at least twenty more minutes." I whispered. I kissed his neck and looked up at his for his reaction. His smirk formed and his eyebrows raised.
"Think we could push it to twenty-five?" He asked me which caused me to start giggling. I felt my body fall against the bed as Jace climb on top of me.
"I love you so much." I told him as my hands ran through his golden hair. His smile grew just before he leaned hard into my lips. I felt our spark and connection return.
God I love him.
