"Well I'm happy he let me eat out my competition before she could beat me," he smirked while staring at me.

"You've had enough action today, don't think you're gonna win me over with that statement." I rolled my eyes in annoyance at his flirty comment.

"You know I have a slick mouth. Plus you look adorable in my clothes, cooked, put all my seedlings to sleep...you honestly deserve more than this dick."

"I deserve a better man honestly," I whispered under my breath quickly slipping a piece of brownie in my mouth.

Apparently he heard my slick statement and it bothered him deeply because Adonis sat up from his slouched position and looked me dead in the eye before saying
"Nobody told you to stay or do what you do. I show you the best way I can how much I appreciate you, Asia. But I can't make you my everything.. I have the kids, Th-"

I cut off his already programmed sentence, I knew he was going to use I have a big life excuse on me again. The first time I talked to him about divorcing Theo he made the same excuse. I was serious last time but this time I was just joking, but that response always strikes me a bit in the heart so I couldn't help but get sensitive a little.

"I can't make you my everything." is what played in my head as I got up from the couch and started packing up my things.

How could he say that when he is my everything? Shows just how selfish he truly is.

"Asia Malayasia Burrington don't tell me that hurt your little feelings?" he said trying to grab my wrist before I was almost out the door.

"Matter of fact it fucking did, and yeah I was joking but maybe I should stop joking with you because your responses are the ones I can't even joke about. I can't make you my everything? Really Adonis?" I replied firmly but quietly standing in front of the door.

Adonis approached my figure and lifted my chin up to face him, my eyes looked the other way. He grabbed my chin then to make sure my eyes were on him when he said what he had to say.

"I'm just being honest, I still have some love left for Theo since she's giving birth to those three you've been helping raise. Plus, we haven't gotten a divorce yet, I just want to date you when my mind is clear mamas."

I slapped him out of anger, and with his grip gone off my cheek, I stormed outside to my car trying to ignore Adonis yelling at me to come back inside.

Out of everything in my life that could be fucked up, why'd it'd have to be my boss?

I pulled out of the driveway with tears strolling down the side of my cheeks. I couldn't believe I thought that a baby could actually bring us together. I'm so stupid to even believe that a man, let alone a married one could want to leave his marriage. It was around two in the morning when I finally made it home and I was tired physically and mentally after today.

I dragged myself up to my door, unlocking it just to meet a few faces that I haven't seen all day.

"Hey London, Cooper, and Peanut! How're mommy's favorite puppies?" I say to my 3 pit bulls in a baby voice with a big smile.

All you hear is barks all throughout the house, which made me forget the pain I was just feeling with Don. I played with them for a few mins before showering, laying out paperwork for tomorrow's meeting, and finally went to sleep with them all over my bed.

Pitbulls are a girl's best friend.

Waking up to licks on my forehead, I got dressed for the board meeting happening at nine this morning in Adonis's office. I honestly didn't wanna see another inch of him in my sight. Yet, a man is something I was definitely not letting get in between me and my money. I did my daily morning routine, slipped on a slim black dress with a matching pair of heels, and kissed my babies before I walked out the door.

Today was a new day, a new mindset and new goals are a must.

As I walked into the office, I was greeted all the way from the front desk to my office. I mean what could you expect being one of the most successful & sweetest directors known to this company. Today was starting off too good, and nothing was going to ruin my day until I laid eyes upon my desk and saw a handwritten letter next to a red rose.

"I didn't wanna touch it, yet I think I have an idea of who it's from," Paris said appearing at my door with a smirk up her lips.

"Good Morning to you too Paris, and It's going straight in the trash. I don't know who he thinks he can- " I said sitting down.

Paris cut my sentence off with "That's bullshit, you and I both know you'll probably stash it away somewhere."

"Who knew working with your best friend would be the best thing and pain in the ass at the same time?" I joked checking my daily mail and such.

"I'm a gift from heaven and you're just mad you made a deal with the devil himself. The meeting is in 20, our investors are from Korea and are here to discuss how our cybersecurity firm can help protect their networks. All eyes are going to be on you, but I know you'll be perfectly fine if he isn't in the room." she smiled before handing me more notes about the board meeting and leaving me dumbfounded at my desk.

Adonis Murray, CEO of the biggest Cyberware firm in North America. My biggest enemy, crush, desire, and lover wrapped in one. I always stutter in front of my presentations whenever he's there. Childish I know, but I can't help myself when I make eye contact with those soft baby brown eyes and start to undress him in my mind.

I honestly believe he only joins my presentations just to torture me in the workplace. I gather my notes and make my way towards the conference room, I decided to arrive a few minutes prior to set up the powerpoints and documents for our buyers. Walking into the lion's den stood the king of the company Adonis with a serious look on his face.

"Did you get home safe last night? Did you get my letter?" he spoke softly.

"Cut the shit Don, I'm here for the meeting and I'll be out your way for the day," I responded cold-heartedly.

"I'll shut this whole meeting down until you talk to me, Asia."

"If only you could shut down your marriage like that," I replied rolling my eyes in disgust.

He always tried the "I'll give you the world " mind trick. Jokes on him though because I was fed up completely this morning.

"You're still on the shit Asia?"

"I'm still taking care of your kids, am I? You're still balls deep in me every other day, aren't you? Isn't that some shit Adonis? Just let me finish this meeting and I'll be out of your way for good." I spat out without any hesitation.

"You don't mean that do you? You're just upset because of last night, I understand I said somethings out of line- "

"Sir, the representatives are here should I send them in now?' Adonis was cut off by one of his employees which gave me the perfect excuse to leave the conference room and give myself some time to think about this presentation.

"Sure, Asia wait!"

I flicked off Adonis before leaving the conference room, fuck him and everything he stood for.
