Magnus was staring at the portal he'd been using. He was certain something had come through, or gone through. He wasn't sure which. Alec had called him to say he would be late because of some influx of power in the area, wanting to know if Magnus was ok.
He was fine but there was something with the portal that wasn't. Not that he'd divulge the information until later.
"Magnus?" Alec called as he came in.
Magnus turned and smiled at Alec as he approached and glanced back at the portal. I think something has come through here. I know the room isn't destroyed or anything but demons can be complicated." Magnus huffed and Alec winced.
"That's why I came for your help. We need you to help us catch a demon. (Y/N) was hiding it. I asked her to meet me here, she's supposed to be following me for training tonight." He huffed and shook his head.
"I knew something came through the portal." Magnus said as he made sure to close it up. "Young Shadowhunters. All such curious creatures." He smiled fondly, kissing Alec before he followed him to where Jace, Izzy and Clary were warding off the demons.
"Can't we just keep it!" You complained as you watched them fighting for the spot Alec had warned you not to move from. "It was so nice at first!"
"I know you're joking, but on the off chance you aren't, no." Alec said firmly. Magnus let out a fondo chuckle before turning his attention to the demon who had clearly become attached to you. Some Mundanes passing by noticed the commotion and destruction strewn around but it didn't take much work to convince them it was a Halloween prank.
