You had waited a week since Magnus had complained. Within the week you'd gone to as many shops as you could and found as many different types of cards that you could find. The pile of cards got higher and higher as the week went on.

Magnus had simply said, "Rats. Nobody sent me a Christmas card today. I almost wish there weren't a holiday season. I know nobody likes me. Why do we have to have a holiday season to emphasize it?"

Which you had taken very seriously and immediately started gathering cards. You made everyone that you knew sign them. Even going around with Izzy at the institute to sign them. You had tried to get the vampires that were with Raphael to sign them. Which went well until a vampire tried to keep you and Magnus showed up to save the day and nearly ruined your surprise. Luke had taken a large bundle and passed them around the wolves who all signed as well. Izzy took some to her Fae friends. Jace took you to some downworlder bars where you stood awkwardly beside him feeling very much like a child who had gone with a guardian to work in order to sell magazine subscriptions for a trip. You got a few signatures. One green haired person with horns and a third eye had thanked you for the card and taken it. You decided they could keep it as Jace had become too drunk to help you explain what you needed the cards for and with all the cards you had for Magnus, you didn't think the warlock would mind missing out on one.

You swept into Magnus' house and called out for him. Clary and the others hurried behind you. Once you saw him coming round the corner you flung your bag of cards in the air and his apartment was covered in white envelopes like a thick falling of snow. When you explained that you had gotten him some cards as he'd been disappointed not to receive any, his face lit up. With a wave of his hands he had the cards organized in many piles, including the bags that Alec and Izzy had carried for you as they were so full you couldn't lift them yourself. He insisted that you sit beside him as he opened each one carefully and read it aloud.
