Chapter 12

Amelia's POV
      why the hell do I keep bumping into Damien.i bumped into him today when I was going to meet My boss's wife to deliver something important to her.it was in an envelope as nosy as I was I didn't open it though I was really close to opening it.my boss sent me though it's not part of my job neither is he paying me.he begged me and I agreed it's not like I was busy either way.

        I waited for the bus for almost 30 minutes but I didn't get any then I decided to get a cab since it was important and I didn't want to keep my boss's wife waiting.she probably needs to attend to her child or maybe has something to do.the car broke down twice I got so worried but the driver kept assuring me that's it was just a little problem nothing to frat about.i started getting pissed he was meant to apologize to me and my boss will be angry if I don't get it on time after he begged me and I agreed.

     sometimes they actually cause road accidents why wouldn't they check up their car  and take preventive measures to avoid problems.i started wishing I had a car because it's really important but I don't have that much money to get my self one.i know it helps because one wouldn't have to spend money on transport anymore and it's more comfortable.

        when the car broke down again I took my bag ,paid him and left.i didn't want to know if I was close or not.Doing a happy dance when I saw I was close through the gps on my phone then i called Cassie to tell her I wouldn't be at work Incase she was going there to look for me.i  ended the call and bent to put the phone in my bag then I bumped into Damien.

        I felt a little happy meeting him even if all I did was bump into him well it wasn't entirely my fault he was distracted too.Damien has his walls built I mean who doesn't but I feel like I can trust him.i haven't never seen him laugh just a little smile.i wonder what his past is and I'm going to know once he lets me hang around with him.i think he's bipolar I swear one minute he teases me the next he looks angry.

     After he left hurriedly I shouted in the air see you later I highly doubt he heard me.i went to deliver it to her .she asked me to have lunch with her I was confused I thought ....i declined her offer I didn't know if she was trying to be nice but her husband already told me whatever that was she needed it urgently and moreover I don't want to talk about my family because that would probably come up along the line.

      'Thank you Amelia you're a life saver.' my boss said
     
    'It's no problem.youre my big bad boss after all.' I teased
   He laughed and went away

   My boss is friendly he isn't like one of those mean bosses that care less about their employees.well sometimes he's annoying but it's highly understandable because he has a lot on his plate.running a business alone is really tiring.
        
     I'm so tired I need to go home and get good sleep but i really need to just round up with my work and get done for the day.

          'Amelia I'm heading home and everyone is leaving in 10minutes so please make sure you lock the doors.Goodnight.'he said pecking my forehead

          'Goodnight boss'.i said

        Like I said my boss is really friendly.he's probably in his early fifties.things turned out well with this time.he had financial problems and he had to close down his business temporarily but ever since he started running it again I have been working here.

   it was difficult at first seeing I was the first employee here but with time things got better.he trust me with the keys so I'm always with it and I come really early to work.im devoted to my work even if I never thought of it because I always wanted to be an Accountant.i need the money to keep living and it helps take my mind off things.

what I learnt during the years is that whatever situation you find yourself in today..tomorrow or years to come don't make snide comments,silly excuses and blame others be it your parents but admit your mistakes and try hard to survive because you'd win eventually.

whatever you sow that you shall reap.if you don't Pick up your flowers gently you'd have no garden.

     It is already late packing up my things I decide to leave.walking a distance in the alley I halted because I'm sure I heard a weird noise.

  We are getting closer to him and if you lose him.i'm going to kill you like How dad and I did with Brown's family.a deep voice said

    'Yes sir we won't lose him.' another voice said

     'Make sure no body knows this if not you'll be good as dead.kill anybody that hears about this too.....don't let my stepsister see you.am I clear?'

       'Yes sir.'

     im getting scared If I run they might catch me and think I'm a bad guy then probably shoot me that's how  my life will be over at 24 and if I don't run I might be kidnapped and still killed.weighing my two options the first seems better because there's a possibility they won't catch me since I'm athlete.

I quietly remove my shoes then put them in my bag and tied my hair then held my bag tightly.i started running for my life.it feels like i've been running for what seems like forever.i stop to catch my breath leaning by the wall of a building.i don't think they saw me but I'm sure they heard my heavy footsteps and whimpers.

   Turning to see if the coast is clear I saw a man with a black hoodie breathing heavily like he's been running and a metal showing at his torso.shit he's probably one of the guys I quickly run into the street without looking if car was coming.

when I'm about to turn to see if there's any  coming.a bright flashed into my eyes and that's how my life flashed before my eyes simultaneously.The car hit me I stumbled and fell to the ground then blacked out.
