The Ship Sails

The Ship Sails

The ship sails, the crowd cheers from behind.

The happy couple waves, though sad they have left their nest.

The friends of the bride grin and smile throughout.

The friends of the groom shout to care for her well.

The mothers sob, their offspring gone.

The fathers wave with tears of joy in their eyes.

And I?

I stand in the background.

Thinking of the obliviousness of the family.

I pity them, for tomorrow,

No one needs to know about

The cloud of shame and depression I fell in

The groom, my past lover, sees me, and calls me out

But I can't hear him.

He doesn't matter, nothing does.

All I care about is death.

Can I please die?

Everything blacks out, and the next thing I remember

Is my lover by my side

I now really understand that the bride

Was me.

There's nothing to be scared of

I never want to lose you, my love.

I love you, and remember that forever.
